Happy Holidays from Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
The decorations are up, the merchandise is on shelves, and new food is coming! But what else is going on in Hollywood Studios? Let’s take a look.
Hollywood Studios Food Updates
Trolley Car Cafe
Bring on the holiday snacks! How could we refuse a Gingerbread Mickey Cookie? This is a Mickey-shaped gingerbread cookie that’s been decorated with vanilla icing and a dark chocolate glaze. It’s got that sweet spicy thing we love about gingerbread, so if that’s your thing, get it for $5.49.
We also tried a new 50th anniversary snack, the Shimmer and Glimmer Early Grey Cupcake, which is an Earl Grey cupcake topped with orange buttercream frosting, celebratory shimmery sprinkles, and a 50th chocolate coin. We REALLY liked it, too!
You can get one for yourself for $5.99.

Backlot Express
SO many treats to try right now. First up, we tried the Holiday Minnie Mouse Bundt Cake for $5.99. It’s a spice cake rolled in cinnamon sugar with apple pie filling and topped with spiced maple buttercream and salted caramel icing. It did NOT disappoint. We loved the flavors in this one — and all those flavors just worked well together.
We also tried the Reindeer Mousse, which is made with spiced cherry-orange dark chocolate mousse, and chocolate cake, placed on top of a gold chocolate cookie base with dark chocolate glaze and milk chocolate buttercream for $5.49. Yes, you would be correct that it sounds good — and it tastes as good as it sounds!
Our love/hate relationship with the Red Velvet Whoopie Pie continues. This time, you can get it at Backlot Express for $5.29. Some years we love it, other years we hate it. So how was this year’s whoopie pie?
Well…it wasn’t BAD and we liked it better than last year, but we did think the Candy Cane Buttercream inside it was…a choice.

Hollywood Scoops
The candy cane flavor continues because we also tried the Candy Cane Milkshake — it’s a peppermint ice cream shake topped with whipped cream, a chocolate cake doughnut, and candy cane sprinkles for $9.49. Now, that sounds GOOD.
It’s VERY sweet (there’s a LOT of sugar here), but it IS pretty tasty. You can get it now for $9.49.

Woody’s Lunch Box
The Hot Chocolate Lunch Box Tart is filled with a chocolate fudge filling and is topped with hot chocolate marshmallow fondant and mini marshmallows! Although the pastry was good, as it always is, the chocolate on top was not our favorite thing — that fondant was a little TOO sweet.
But you can try it for yourself now for $4.49.
Here’s what we thought about it!
Dockside Diner
But wait, there’s more! We also tried the Holiday Tree Marshmallow at Dockside Diner. It’s made with vanilla bean marshmallow and raspberry jam dipped in chocolate on top of a vanilla cookie. It looks like a Christmas tree!
We absolutely loved it, although we thought it was kinda’ small for $7.49 — we could eat so many MORE of these!
Here’s our full review!
Rosie’s All-American Cafe
The Santa Mickey Cupcake at Rosie’s surprised us. It’s a chocolate cupcake with red almond buttercream, white chocolate, and dark chocolate Mickey ears! But there’s a wonderful secret inside — a Mocha Fudge Filling. That takes the cupcake up a level.
Be sure to try it out for $5.99.

Dan says
We went last November couldn’t get the carrot cake cookie at the Trolley Car because they temporarily replaced it with the Red Velvet. Please tell me that the carrot cake cookie is still available at the Trolley Car and the red velvet is just at Back Lot.
