Although the U.S. no longer considers COVID-19 a pandemic, it is still affecting many around the world.
COVID-19 shut down every Disney resort in 2020 and while some parks like Disney World were able to open months later, some Disney resorts have closed several times. Shanghai Disney is one resort that has closed several times due to COVID-19 and the latest closure happened on October 31st, 2022. Now, Shanghai Disney has announced the beginning of another reopening.
On the Shanghai Disney Resort website, they announced that Disneytown, Wishing Star Park, and Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will reopen on November 17th, 2022. Hotel reservation services have reopened as of November 16th. As of now, Shanghai Disneyland and the Toy Story Hotel will remain closed until further notice.
For any guests visiting Shanghai Disney, Disneytown will be open from 10AM-8PM and Wishing Star Park will be open from 9AM-5PM on November 17th.The Disneytown Parking Lot, Wishing Star Ferry, and Disney Car and Coach Park will also be running during these hours.
If guest travel plans were impacted during this closure, Disney suggests that you contact the original purchase channel to request an exchange or refund. Shanghai Disney will keep many of its COVID-19 restrictions in place including social distancing, limited capacity, a negative test result, temperature screening, and face masks.
