If you’ll be dining in Disneyland soon, there’s an important change you need to know about.
A number of changes have hit the Disney parks recently. Magic Key Passes became available to purchase again, Annual Pass price increases have been announced for Disney World, and more things will be changing soon. And now another change has hit the Happiest Place on Earth.
On November 15th, Disney revealed a big change when it comes to canceling dining reservations at Disney World. Instead of having to cancel the day before to avoid cancelation fees, guests can now cancel their Disney World dining reservations just 2 hours in advance without any kind of cancelation fee. This applies to most locations, though it may not apply to all of them.
Now, it seems the same change has been made at Disneyland. We went into the Disneyland app this morning to try and make a dining reservation. As we were reviewing the reservation, we went to the Credit Card Guarantee Required section and tapped “View the Guest Policies.”
That directed us to another screen with a lot of different policies. When we scrolled a little further down, we saw that the app now notes that reservations must be canceled at least 2 hours prior to avoid per-person cancelation fees, matching the Disney World policy.
So if you’ll be visiting Disneyland and plan on making any dining reservations, keep this policy in mind. It could help you avoid cancelation fees if a last-minute reservation change needs to be made.
Remember that if you don’t cancel in time and don’t show up to your reservation, you will be charged a $10 per person cancelation fee.
Just like out at Disney World, we expect this policy will apply to most restaurants in Disneyland, but it may not apply to all of them, so be sure to check for any specific policies that might apply to whatever restaurants you’ll be eating at during your trip.
As a note, Disney has shared that this does not apply to Downtown Disney District restaurants, World of Color Dessert Party, the Princess Breakfast Adventure at Napa Rose, and Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace.
