It’s a holiday week in Disney World, with festive after-hours parties, holiday treats galore, and the start of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays! We’re expecting a BUSY few days in the parks, with lots of people coming in to celebrate.
If you’re joining the throngs of holiday guests in Disney World, you’ll need to know what’s going to be closed during your upcoming vacation. Take a look at all the temporary closures at the parks and hotels here!
But before we get to the closures…do you already have your bags packed for your trip? If you’re going to visit Disney World soon, you’ll need the perfect outfit to wear into the parks! We’ve got a lot of great tees and sweatshirts (including some holiday designs!) at our online DFB store — Click here to check out our whole merch line.
Now that you’re ready with the perfect Disney ‘fits, check out our full list of what’s going to be CLOSED in Disney World this week.
Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World Railroad
We’ve spotted the Walt Disney World Railroad trains testing a few different times, but Disney still hasn’t announced when this attraction will finally reopen.
One Cast Member we spoke to told us that the trains need to be thoroughly tested several times, so it’s possible that we won’t see the Railroad reopen for a few more months still. We’ll be on the lookout for more updates from Disney!
Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
In Tomorrowland, the Space Mountain gift shop is still closed as well. This shop — called the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. — is getting updates to the interior and exterior.
Disney hasn’t announced an official reopening date for this gift shop, but we noticed that it’s not showing up on the Disney refurbishments calendar after December 11th. That might be when it’ll reopen, so we’ll watch for updates in the park.
Enchanted Tales with Belle
Over in Fantasyland, Enchanted Tales with Belle is also still closed. This character meet-and-greet attraction has been closed for a long time now.
Disney hasn’t announced when the full attraction will reopen, but you can sometimes find Belle nearby, greeting guests.
Pete’s Silly Sideshow
In Storybook Circus, Pete’s Silly Sideshow is a character meet-and-greet spot that hosts Minnie, Daisy, Goofy, and Donald.
This spot is still closed for now, but Disney previously promised that it’d reopen sometime “in the coming months,” so we’re watching closely for it to reopen soon!
Meet Ariel at Her Grotto
Another meet-and-greet that’s currently closed is Ariel’s Grotto in Fantasyland.
Disney hasn’t announced when Ariel will return to greet guests, but you can still visit the Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction nearby.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
The only temporary closure scheduled for Hollywood Studios is the Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show.
Disney hasn’t announced when or if this show will reopen.
We experienced a RARE magical moment in Hollywood Studios.
EPCOT
American Adventure Show
In EPCOT’s World Showcase, the American Adventure show is still closed as Disney works on some updates to the show and animatronics.
Disney hasn’t confirmed an official reopening date for this show, but it disappears from the refurbishments calendar on December 17th, so it’s possible it’ll return on that date. Sometimes things will disappear and then reappear (possibly due to glitches on the webpage), so we’ll be watching to see if anything changes.
Cool Wash
This little snack kiosk near Test Track has served cold drinks and theme park treats in the past, but it’s been closed for a while now.
We recently spotted a new sign overhead that reads “Refreshment Station,” so it might be returning soon! Disney hasn’t announced when it’ll reopen.
Find out when Takumi-Tei will REOPEN in EPCOT!.
Disney World Hotels
Narcoossee’s — Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Narcoossee’s is an upscale seafood restaurant at the Grand Floridian, and it’s been closed for several months now.
This restaurant will reopen sometime in 2023 with an “enhanced dining experience.”

Disney World Water Parks
Typhoon Lagoon
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park reopened about a week ago, and now Disney World’s other water park — Typhoon Lagoon — has closed for its own set of refurbishments.
Disney hasn’t announced yet when Typhoon Lagoon might reopen.
Check out the updates at Blizzard Beach here.

with the massive crowds and subsequent profit WDW has had over the last 1+ years, there is NO excuse as to why anything is closed or even re-opened !!!
