Flying has been a bit complicated recently.
There were a ton of delays and cancelations of flights over the summer, and now, holiday travel is picking up bringing the crowds to the airports. But, a lot of airlines have been adding routes to places like Orlando. And now, another low-cost airline will offer MORE direct flights to Orlando!
Avelo Air will offer two direct flights every day from Dayton International Airport in Ohio to Orlando International Airport beginning on January 13th, according to Orlando Business Journal. This is the carrier’s first service in Ohio.
The new flights follow Avelo Airlines debuting a new base of operations in Orlando back in June, with plans to expand. Flights to Orlando on Avelo Air start at $29 for one-way tickets. The Orlando base for Avelo Air also has flights to Baltimore, Connecticut and Wilmington, North Carolina.
“We welcome Avelo Airlines’ decision to choose the Dayton International Airport for its first route in Ohio, bringing a new air carrier to our state. Air service is critical for continued economic growth, and Avelo’s new, round-trip service to the Orlando International Airport will bolster the positive economic momentum we’re experiencing in the Dayton region,” said Ohio Governor Mike DeWine.
Note that there is already a nonstop service to Orlando from Dayton International Airport, but it goes into Orlando Sanford International, not Orlando International Airport.
