One Disney World hotel is about to get a little more “Disney.”
Several hotels at Disney World have recently been renovated to include more characters from classic stories. Disney’s Contemporary Resort now has Incredibles-themed rooms, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has some Mary Poppins Returns-themed resort studios, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is the home to Moana-themed rooms. Now, we’ve got a sneak peek at some Little Mermaid rooms coming soon to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort!
Earlier this year, Disney announced that they would be re-theming the pirate rooms at Caribbean Beach, but they didn’t give any details about the changes until a few months later when they revealed that the rooms would be decorated with “characters from under the sea.”
The rooms that will be refurbished, which are in the Trinidad section of the hotel, are going to be getting some Little Mermaid-themed updates! Disney reported on its Cast and Community Facebook page that “Cast Members were excited to be the first to ‘sea'” the new rooms.
The “fin-tastic” touches include new artwork, brighter decor, pastel colors, and a 5th sleeper bed that will allow each room to accommodate more guests. Disney said that these updates are “among the newest of the ongoing enhancements happening at our Resort hotels all around Walt Disney World.”
As you can see, the refurbishments are already underway, and Disney expects the rooms to become available to guests in 2023.
We’ll continue to watch for more updates about these new rooms. In the meantime, check out these links to tour other popular hotel rooms at Disney World:

Does putting a few pictures of Little Mermaid characters on the wall really give the sterile room a theme?
FL-Dad says
The new decor looks nice; brighter and the pull-down bed is a nice touch.
Janet says
Very, very nice. I like the updated rooms. Thanks for sharing the photos.
Tony McManus says
Pretty disappointing. Not much to at all. Did they go to Hobby Lobby for the decorations?

Does this mean Art of Animation will be getting rid of their Little Mermaid Rooms? Weird having the same theme at two different resorts.

I don’t think it’s weird to have the same theme at two different resorts at all. Ariel has always been my favorite and is my daughter’s favorite. We were just remarking that AoA is perfect for younger families and CB is like the grown up more elegant version. I can’t wait to stay in them!

I love the themed rooms at WDW! They are so immersive and give every vacation that extra Disney magic. Do you know if the redesigned rooms at Caribbean Beach will be a separate category? We would really love to experience the Little Mermaid details, but I don’t think we want to risk booking a standard room unless we know it will be one of the updated ones! It seems like the perfect blend of themed décor and relaxing details. Although, if we wanted to go all out for the Little Mermaid we would definitely choose Art of Animation! 😊 -Lindsey
