PHOTOS and VIDEO: First Look at H.E.R. as Belle in Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Special

In case you missed it, ABC will be airing a special new version of Beauty and the Beast!

Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration will air on ABC on December 15th, 2022, starring H.E.R. as Belle and Josh Groban as the Beast, and it will be a unique combo of animation and live-action recorded in front of a live audience. If you’re feeling impatient about waiting until the 15th, we have a first look at the show and the characters in costume!

First, we can see H.E.R. as Belle in her classic blue outfit. This looks like the scene in her “poor provincial town.”

And look at H.E.R. wearing Belle’s winter outfit! ICONIC.

Here we see Josh Groban as the Beast, singing. We don’t have a sneak peek about what he might look like in the Beast costume yet!

Here is Belle with her father, Maurice, in the Beast’s jail. He is played by Jon Jon Briones.

Lumiere is played by Martin Short and Shania Twain plays Mrs. Potts. The costumes are so detailed!

David Alan Grier plays Cogsworth, with Leo Abele Perry playing Chip.

And Joshua Henry plays Gaston, looking quite menacing here.

You’ll have to wait until December 15th to catch the show on ABC, but in the meantime, you can watch the 1991 animated film or the 2017 live-action film on Disney+!
