We talk about Disney World and Disneyland a lot, but that’s not all that’s happening in the theme park world!

Universal also has a lot going on, like a new attraction coming soon along with a whole new theme park. They’re also building a Super Nintendo World over at Universal Studios Hollywood that’s opening next year. We already knew that the new land would be opening sometime in early 2023, but now, we have an exact opening date!
Super Nintendo World will open on February 17th, 2023 at Universal Studios Hollywood!

The land will take you into the world of Super Mario, where you can battle Team Bowser on the Mario Kart ride, eat at Toadstool Cafe, and grab some fun merchandise.

Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge is the ride where you get to battle Team Bowser on iconic Mario Kart courses! You will join Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach to collect coins and throw shells to win the Golden Cup on the world’s first interactive Mario Kart ride!

You can also take your adventures in the land to the next level with your Power-Up Band. This looks sort of similar to Disney’s MagicBands, but the Universal version lets you keep score throughout the land as you take on challenges, collect digital coins, and more. You will be able to buy these at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Super Nintendo theming is also coming to Universal’s Epic Universe park at Universal Orlando in a few years! The park is in the early stages of being built right now and will include theming from Illumination and DreamWorks properties as well. Right now, the park is scheduled to open sometime in 2025.
