2023 is shaping up to be a momentous year for the Disney company.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: The final voyage for the Star Wars Hotel will be September 28th-30th, 2023. After that, the Galactic Starcruiser will be permanently closed. On May 26th, Disney shared a message on the Galactic Starcruiser website stating that the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is unavailable for new bookings. However, the message also indicated that a limited number of rooms could become available for new bookings “from time to time.” Disney urges guests to continue checking the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser website for any new availability.
The 50th celebrations at Walt Disney World have wrapped up, and just as those come to a close the entire company is celebrating its 100th anniversary! 2023 might be an important year for many guests as well. For example, you might be taking your first trip on the Galactic Starcruiser, Disney’s immersive Star Wars experience. Also known as the Star Wars hotel, the Starcruiser combines Disney’s resort amenities, dining, entertainment, and activities in a 2-night/3-day experience. When it first opened in March of 2022, some scrambled to get a spot while others were more hesitant due to the price tag. Now that the experience has had time to settle in, you might be ready to book! Let’s take a look at which dates have already sold out for this experience in 2023.
Before scheduling your trip, booking airfare, or doing anything else concrete, first you need to ensure the dates you would like to visit are open. Some dates are already unavailable, so we’re making sure you know what is still available so you won’t miss out.
Because a stay (or “voyage”) is a 2-night experience, not every day on the calendar is available as a “start” day. Every 2 days a new boarding group comes in when the old one leaves, so on the calendar the beginning dates of each voyage are marked with an orange line.
January – March 2023
For the first three months of the year, the only dates that were completely unavailable were February 18th-19th.
There’s a similar situation from April to June…

Only two days in early April (the 5th-6th) were unavailable, and two in the middle of May (the 17th-18th) are unavailable, but there is plenty of availability throughout the rest of the spring season. This is one of our favorite times to visit Disney because of the mild weather!
Things begin to change moving into the summer months. In late January 2023, we noticed there were quite a few more dates missing from the availability shown this summer.
July – September 2023

I thought people would lose interest. It’s cheaper to go on an actual cruise on the wish.

So according to the current data, 4 days out of 9 months, probably not a good look. Maybe this experience could get added to the 15% off for Disney+ subscribers?
