The Walt Disney World Railroad is OPEN in Magic Kingdom, and we were one of the first people on the newly reopened train!
If you’re planning to visit Magic Kingdom soon, you’ll be able to hop on and ride the train to the 3 stations around this park. But before you can get on, you’ll need to know what times the train is open! Take a look at the opening hours here.
The Walt Disney World Railroad had been closed for several YEARS, but it finally reopened in December 2022 in Magic Kingdom!
If you’re hoping to ride the train, you can check out the attraction’s hours here. Right now, Disney’s website is showing that the train will be open from 9AM-6PM daily until January 30th. That changes on January 31st, when the train runs from 9AM-3:30PM. (Magic Kingdom closes at 4:30PM that day.)
After that, the hours return to the 9AM-6PM window until March 18th. Starting on March 19th, the train will stay open an hour later until 7PM for Spring Break season.
The 7PM closing time is currently listed through March 24th. There are no hours online past that date, but we’ll update you as more are added.
We’ll keep watching for more updates on all the changes happening at Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more news!

Disclosure: In nearly all circumstances, Disney Food Blog writers and photographers pay full price for their own travel, hotel, food, beverage, and event tickets. We do this because it’s important to us as journalists to ensure not only that we give you unbiased opinions, but also that you can trust us to do so since we’re paying our own way. On rare occasions, when we are invited by a company to attend a preview as media, and when we choose to accept that invitation, we will always make you, our readers, aware of that situation. Today, we were invited by Disney World to attend their media preview of the Walt Disney World Railroad reopening. Note that when we attend events as media we are 1) Not required to review that event/food on any of our channels, and 2) Not required to review that event/food favorably. You can always count on DFB to give you a 100% unbiased and honest review of any event that we attend, food that we eat, or beverage that we drink. You can see more in our Disclosure Policy. So after waiting years for the railroad to come back and after the major rebuilding of the steam engines, they are only going to run limited hours? Didn’t the train used to run all day? Seeing the park at night by train would be a wonderful experience.
