Disney World knows how to celebrate a holiday.
So much so that they often start the celebrations WELL in advance. We’ve been keeping up with all the iconic holiday decor, snacks, festivals, and more around Disney World — and now it looks like there’s one more festive way Disney has decided to celebrate Christmas!
There are few things as iconic as the Disney monorail. The retro-futuristic method of transportation is considered by many to be a ride you can experience without a park ticket. Hop aboard the highway in the sky and pop from Magic Kingdom to EPCOT, or to the monorail resorts. The (Disney) World is your oyster. And we just so happened to learn a VERY cool fun fact on our Christmas Eve morning monorail ride.
You might know that there are several different monorail trains, each with a different color. Depending on the day and monorail line, you might be on Monorail Green, Monorail Blue, Monorail Black, and so on.
We were hopping on the resort monorail line, when a Cast Member told us that for Christmas Eve, the monorails running on that line were festively Christmas colored! Monorails Green, Red, Silver, and Gold are running on the monorail line for Christmas Eve. The Cast Member didn’t share if this would continue tomorrow, but we have a pretty good feeling it might!
If you’re heading out on the resort monorail line, you just might be able to hop aboard one of these festive trains. And while you’re at it, why not do a little monorail resort hopping and maybe even a bar crawl? You can also check out the incredible Gingerbread displays at the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary!
Be sure to stay tuned as we bring you more news and updates from around Disney World during the holidays!

We rode on monorail Gold Thursday evening! We saw all the holiday decor in each resort & ate dinner at the Grand Floridian. It was amaxing! We even saw the fireworks & electrical water parade from the monorail.
