China has announced more COVID-19 restrictions are going away.
Travel has been severely impacted this past week due to storms across the United States which led to hundreds of canceled or delayed flights and a warning from President Biden regarding travel. Now, China has made an announcement that will majorly impact future travel to the country.
CNBC shared that China announced that some of their COVID-19 quarantine requirements will be removed. In a video on Twitter, it was explained that Beijing announced overnight that incoming international travelers will no longer be required to quarantine when traveling to the country. This change will begin on January 8th and is major news for the travel industry. Anyone traveling to the country will still need to have a negative COVID test within 48 hours to enter the country.
Travel experts are eager to see how travel will be impacted on the Chinese Lunar New Year which is on January 22nd, 2023. This news also impacts Disney’s fans due to Shanghai Disneyland being located in the country.
