There is so much amazing food at Disneyland — and yes, we’ll keep telling you to try our favorites, including the classic Disneyland corn dog, churros, and the Grilled Cheese at Jolly Holiday Bakery.
We have an entire list of our favorite grilled cheese sandwiches in both Disneyland AND Disney World, but what makes a grilled cheese good? Well, it’s got to have delicious MELTY cheese and toasty bread that doesn’t get too soggy. We’re also all about taking the grilled cheese UP a notch, and that’s exactly what Disneyland has done at River Belle Terrace.
Okay, so let’s talk about River Belle Terrace. We dined there in Disneyland recently, so we’ve got a few things to tell you about this restaurant.
Atmosphere
First, we’re going to talk about location. River Belle Terrace overlooks the Rivers of America, so you can count on a great view. Although there is indoor seating available in a garden-themed room, we prefer sitting outside on the water if the weather allows.
Seating is standard tables and chairs. Did we also mention this is a great spot for people-watching?
But what we’re here for is THE FOOD.
Eats
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available at River Belle Terrace, where the food has a Southern theme. You’ll find appetizers like Warm Pimento Dip and Crispy Cornmeal Catfish & Shrimp, as well as Sandwiches, Comfort-inspired Entrees, and a selection of sweets.
We decided to start with an appetizer, so we got the Loaded Potato Bites for $15. These have House-made Brisket and Pimento Cheese on them, along with some other delicious toppings.
Yep, those are Regular Pickles AND FRIED Pickles and WE LOVED IT. Combined with the brisket, this one was a big hit with us.
Next up, we had the Burnt Ends Grilled Cheese for $23, which is made with BBQ Brisket, Pickled Pepper Relish with House-made Baked Beans, and Potato Bites. Again, this one was a winner.
The grilled cheese checked off all those points we made earlier about what a grilled cheese should be and the brisket ELEVATED IT. The sides were also great, and yes, we got more potato bites because POTATOES ARE EVERYTHING.
Finally, we can’t leave without checking out dessert, so we tried the Seasonal Monkey Bread. Okay, so here’s where things got a little disappointing. Yes, it looks delicious, what with the Chocolate Chips, Pecans, and Buttercream on top.
The monkey bread just didn’t do it for us. We thought it was dry — even the Chocolate and Caramel Sauces couldn’t save it.
Overall, though, River Belle Terrace is a good location if you’re looking for a table-service meal in Disneyland where you can rest your feet for a bit and indulge in some Southern comfort food. We would totally order that grilled cheese again, but next time, we might try a different dessert.
