Well, we’re ready to put the holiday season behind us, but boy, oh BOY, has it been fun!
We’ve enjoyed seeing all the beautiful holiday decorations, checking out the gingerbread displays, eating ALL the holiday treats, and eating even MORE holiday foods at the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. But now, we’re heading into the first week of 2023, so let’s see what Disney World’s park hours and park pass availability look like for January 1st-7th, 2023!
Magic Kingdom Park Hours
Let’s start in Magic Kingdom. The park hours for January 1st through 7th are 9AM to 11PM.
Extended evening hours are on January 4th from 11PM to 1AM.
EPCOT Park Hours
At EPCOT, park hours for January 1st through 6th are 9AM to 9PM. On January 7th, the park hours are from 10AM to 9PM.
Extended evening hours are on January 2nd from 9PM to 11PM.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park Hours
Park hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on January 1st through 7th are from 8:30AM to 9PM.
Remember that you can park hop after 2 PM, as long as you’ve scanned into the park you have a park pass reservation for earlier in the day.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Hours
Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, park hours are from 8AM to 8PM from January 1st through 7th.
If you stay at a Disney World hotel, you can use Early Theme Park Entry to enter any of the four parks an extra 30 minutes earlier than its official opening time.
Park Pass Reservation Availability
Depending on which category you fall under, your park pass reservation availability is dependent on whether you just have theme park tickets, are a Disney World hotel guest, or have an Annual Pass. For visitors with Theme Park Tickets, Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are full on January 1st and 3rd through 6th. On January 2nd, all 4 parks are sold out.
For Select Resort Guests, Magic Kingdom is sold out on January 1st, while Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are sold out on January 3rd through 6th. All 4 parks are sold out on January 2nd.
A different calendar is used for those with Annual Passes. For the Incredi Pass, Magic Kingdom is unavailable on January 1st through 4th, EPCOT is available every day of the week, Hollywood Studios is unavailable January 1st through 5th, and Animal Kingdom is sold out January 2nd and 3rd. There are no block-out dates.
For the Sorcerer Pass, there are also no block-out dates, Magic Kingdom is unavailable on January 1st and 2nd, EPCOT is only unavailable on January 2nd, Hollywood Studios is sold out from January 1st through 5th, and Animal Kingdom is unavailable on January 2nd and 3rd.
The Pirate Pass has a block-out date on January 1st. Magic Kingdom is sold out for January 2nd through 4th, while EPCOT is only sold out for January 2nd. Hollywood Studios is sold out on January 2nd through 5th, while Animal Kingdom is sold out on January 2nd and 3rd.
Finally, those with the Pixie Dust Pass have both January 1st and January 7th blocked out. No parks are available on January 2nd and 3rd, but all four parks are available January 4th through 6th.

Heading down on Friday for a long weekend. A little concerned about traffic since it’s marathon weekend. I have a plan hoping it works out. We’re passholders and been to Disney a bunch, just not on a marathon weekend. The busiest time we’ve ever been was Feb 2010 when the Saints won the Super Bowl and that overlapped Presidents Day weekend. Whew…crazy week!
