We recently reported that actor Jeremy Renner had been hospitalized following a snow plow-related accident.
His family reported he was in “critical but stable” condition, and now there’s been an update on his injuries.
Jeremy Renner is recovering in the Intensive Care Unit following surgeries for “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries,” according to CNN. Renner was involved in a snow plowing accident at his home in Nevada on New Year’s Day.
A source close to the actor told CNN the actor had undergone two surgeries so far to address his injuries. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a “traumatic injury” involving Renner near Mount Rose Highway in Reno.
The deputies found Renner injured and arranged for his transport to a local hospital. The Sheriff’s Office didn’t share details on how the accident with the snow plow happened, but said its Major Accident Investigation Team was looking into the circumstances.
On Monday evening, Renner’s family shared a statement via representative that read, “Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
The actor had previously shared videos on social media showing him in snow, even posting a video in which he appears to drive a snow plow.
Our thoughts continue to be with Jeremy Renner and his family as we wish him a full recovery.
