Disney is offering a new(ish) promotion that might help you save on dining during your next trip! (Sorry, it’s not the Disney Dining Plan.)
We’ve seen the Dining Promo Card before in various forms, and now it’s returning in a new way in 2023. This promotion is essentially a gift card that you can only use at select Disney World restaurants. If you’re staying at a Disney hotel, you might be eligible to receive one!
What Is the Dining Promo Card?
The Dining Promo Card is basically a gift card that you can use at select Disney World restaurants. The card is included with certain hotel reservations, and we’ll go into the details about how you can qualify for the promotion in the next section.
If you have a qualifying Disney hotel reservation, you’ll receive the promo card in your email once you check into your reservation. The card’s value depends on your vacation arrival date, how long you’re staying at the hotel, and which hotel you choose.
The offer is good for up to a $750 Dining Promo Card. Here are the values based on travel dates and resorts:
-
- At value resorts — $35 per night if your arrival date is between June 25th and June 30th or July 11th and the 31st, and $50 per night if your arrival date is between July 1st and the 10th or August 1st and September 14th
- At moderate resorts — $75 per night if your arrival date falls between June 25th and June 30th or July 11th and the 31st, and $100 per night if your arrival date falls between July 1st and the 10th or August 1st and September 14th
- At deluxe resorts — $125 per night if your arrival date falls between June 25th and June 30th or July 11th and the 31st, and $150 per night if your arrival date falls between July 1st and the 10th or August 1st and September 14th
You must book at least a 4-night stay, which means the gift cards start at $140 total for value resorts, $300 total for moderate resorts, and $500 total for deluxe resorts. Remember, you get one gift card per ROOM, not per person.
Who Gets a Dining Promo Card?
Disney has announced that the new Dining Promo Card offer will be available for guests who are visiting between June 25th and September 14th, 2023. Guests must book a minimum 4-night stay at a Disney World hotel with at least 4 days of park tickets in order to be eligible to receive the card.
Disney has done something similar in the past for guests visiting from the UK, and we’ve also seen a Quick Service Dining Card offered to people who stay at Disney World good neighbor hotels. The new promotion is for people staying at Disney World hotels who also booked park tickets.
The offer became available to book on January 5th. There is only one card per reservation, so if you have a large group staying in multiple hotel rooms, it would be better to book separately. Current reservations that fit the dates can be modified with the new offer, but keep in mind that some hotel prices recently increased, so the modification may cost you more than it cost when you originally booked.
How Do You Book the Dining Promo Card?
Luckily, it’s pretty easy to book the Dining Promo Card. It’s essentially the same as booking a Disney World Resort Hotel. You’ll need to visit the Dining Promo Card Special Offer page and click “Check Availability.”
From there, you’ll need to select which dates you want to book your trip — keep in mind, the minimum stay is 4 nights and there are certain travel dates. For this example, we selected June 26th to July 1st! After you’ve entered the relevant info like dates, how many adults and children are in your party, and which resort hotels you’re interested in, click “Find a Room.”
Based on your search criteria, several Disney World Resort Hotels will pop up. We went with Art of Animation for this example, which is a Value Resort. Depending on the level of hotel you choose, the amount you’re given on the Dining Promo Card will vary.
Then, you’ll be shown a screen that shows the different types of ticket packages you want: room only; room and park tickets; room, park tickets, and Dining Promo Card, etc. The Promo Card offer should automatically be selected, but if it isn’t you can click on it.
You’ll then be prompted to choose what type of room you’d like to book based on your travel needs. We went with the Little Mermaid Standard Room.
Then it’s time to choose how many park days you want — for this example, we went with 4 days…
…and we chose regular base tickets with no Park Hopper option. Of course, you can choose whatever fits your needs best!
And that’s pretty much it! You’ll have the option of including some add-ons at the very end like Memory Maker if you want, but once you click to book and enter your payment info you’re all set! The Dining Promo Card will automatically be emailed to the lead guest on the reservation at check-in.
To put it simply, booking the Dining Promo Card is as easy as booking a Disney World Resort Hotel!

How Do You Use the Dining Promo Card?
The Dining Promo Card will be emailed to the address of the lead guest on the reservation after check-in. The email will include a barcode that can be scanned at restaurants, and the card may be added to Google or Apple Wallets on your phone. You can either show the email on your mobile device, via a printed copy, or by adding it to your mobile wallet!
However, this card canNOT be attached to a MagicBand, MagicBand+, or MagicMobile. (So you won’t be able to use those devices to scan like you could with the Disney Dining Plan.)
If you’re Mobile Ordering, you may enter the number of the gift card into the My Disney Experience app to pay for your order. Whatever balance is remaining on your dining card will expire on September 30th, 2023. It works dollar-for-dollar like cash instead of a points system, so you can easily keep track of how much you’re spending. You’ll be able to check your balance the following ways:
- Visit Disney Gift Card to check online
- Call (877) 650-4327
- Ask a participating food-and-beverage location to check for you
There are some locations where you CAN’T use the Dining Promo Card, and those are listed below:
- Merchandise locations and candy kitchens
- Dining locations at Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel and Walt Disney World Swan Reserve Hotel
- Dining locations at Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort
- Dining locations at Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels
- Dining locations at Walt Disney World Official Hotels at Bonnet Creek
- Dining locations at Walt Disney World Gateway Hotels

What questions do you still have about the Dining Promo Card? Let us know in the comments.
Jeff says
Do we know if they can be used for snacks? Is there a list of places they can be used?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Jeff! They can be used on mobile orders as well so you should be able to use it on snacks as long as it is at a quick service restaurant. You wouldn’t be able to use it in a gift shop for a snack.
Sarah Bennett says
Will Florida Pass holders be able to get the. PROMO DINING CARD? WE Have already paid for our tickets.. Highly.
Cm0125 says
Is this only available on packages booked through the Disney website? I have booked through UK travel agent and booked tickets separately, does that mean I won’t qualify?
DFB Gigi says
Hi! You might want to reach out to your travel agent directly to see if they can modify your reservation. There’s no guarantee, but it’s worth a shot.
DFB Gigi says
Hi Sarah! Unfortunately, the dining card promo is only for package deals that include tickets and rooms in one package.
Melissa says
Hi! Just a note on the maximum price, we booked our package for a 9 night stay (very excited!) in September 2023 and were informed we’d receive a $1,350 Dining Promo Card, so it does seem like the “up to $750” information listed on the official Disney World website is a bit misleading.
Gary Langdon says
So once again , DVC Members , get no benefit from this promo nor do Annual Pass holders .
Arlene says
Another question for you Gigi;
suppose you do not use your total allotment for your dining card on a specific day? What happens to the balance that you didn’t use? In other words if I’m at a value resort and it is $35 for the day and I only use $20, will the other $15 be carried over to the next day? Making my allowance for the next day $50? Are the amounts not used cumulative? Or is it a daily use it or lose it situation? Thanks!
DFB Gigi says
Hi Arlene! Yes, the balance will carry over. From what Disney has said it looks like the balance for each day of your stay will roll over and the last day to use it or lose it will be September 30.
Amy Procyk says
Hi!
is this per person or would it be $50 for the whole group?
Loric H says
Does anyone know if this Promo is available to groups staying at Shades of Green? We are staying at the end of June and the beginning of July.
DFB Gigi says
Hi Amy! The Dining Promo amount is per group and not per person.
Lloyd says
Will you be able to use this at the Food and Wine festival booths?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Lloyd! Yes, the dining promo card can be used at the Food and Wine Festival booths, but only up until September 30th.
Horace says
Is the card issued on the day of check in or not until you actually get a room? Meaning am I going to be spending my own money in the park until check in at 3pm.
David says
Do you get the digital dining card emailed to you after online check-in or do you receive the email after check-in at the desk?
Mike Abel says
can the dining promo card be used to pay for alcoholic beverages ( e.g., cocktails/wine with dinner)?
Amanda says
I already booked for POP in January, 8 days with 5 day tickets, if I want to change and do a split stay and spend my first 2 nights at another resort (deluxe) and the rest at POP will I still get dining promo? AND will it be the amounts for both tiered resorts?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Amanda! I would call guest services to see what they say about that. I’m not sure if they will be able to do it that way because it requires a certain number of nights (4) at a fixed price and since you aren’t staying 4 nights at either resort, I’m not sure if they can honor that so your best bet would be to call them directly to see if it can be applied.
