One of the best things about staying at a Disney World hotel is the pool!

Disney World swimming pools provide great theming for a fun pool day, or even just a quick dip after a hot day in the parks.
But, like everything else at Disney World, those pools require maintenance to stay in tip-top shape for guests. So from time to time, Disney World closes them for refurbishment. It’s a great idea to follow DFB to keep up with these developments, because if the pool is important to you and you’ve booked a stay at that hotel, you may want to try to change your reservations!
Here are all the pool closures currently scheduled for 2023.
Typhoon Lagoon
It’s not a swimming pool, but we thought we’d mention that one of Disney World’s two water parks is also closed at this time!
Ever since the water parks first reopened, we’ve been in this back-and-forth game with Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. When one opens, the other one immediately closes.
Typhoon Lagoon
Currently, Blizzard Beach is open, which means that Typhoon Lagoon is closed right now.

Contemporary Resort
UPDATE: The pool refurbishment at Contemporary Resort are now complete!
The feature pool and whirlpool spas are also currently closed at the Contemporary Resort — through early April 2023.

Again, though, there’s an alternate pool at the resort — the Bay Lake Pool is still open, as well as the water play area for children.
New Ways to SAVE at Disney World in 2023
Saratoga Springs Resort
UPDATE: As of late March, the pool refurbishment at Saratoga Springs Resort are now complete!
The Saratoga Springs Resort has FIVE pools, so you won’t be left high and dry when you stay there, but there were some closures we kept our eyes on.
On the Rocks Pool Bar
The High Rock Spring Pool, On the Rocks Pool Bar, and the leisure pool at Treehouse Villas were closed for refurbishment through late March 2023. As we said, there are three other pools available — and Disney provided a shuttle to transport guests to an alternate pool for guests staying near one of the two pools that were closed during that time.
Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground
UPDATE: As of late March (a bit ahead of schedule), the pool refurbishment at Fort Wilderness Resort is now complete!
Scheduled through early April 2023, the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and whirlpool spa was closed for refurbishment at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
Meadow Swimmin’ Pool
Like at many other resorts, there is another pool you can enjoy if you are staying here: the Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool and its whirlpool spa. The campground’s water play area, and the Meadow Snack Bar also remained open while the work is being done.

I noticed it says guests at Contemporary still have the Bay Lake Tower pool. If you aren’t staying in Bay Lake Tower but another part of the Contemporary will you have access to that pool during the refurbishment? I thought usually only BLT guests could access that pool but could be wrong. Appreciate any insight you might have on that.
I’m currently at Contemporary and, no, they will not let guests use the Bay Lake pool despite the closure. The website makes it seem like you can, but when we got here we were told that’s not the case.
