Guess what day it is?! It’s the kickoff of the Lunar New Year Celebration at Disney California Adventure!
This year, the celebration runs from January 20th through February 13th and it’s celebrating the Year of the Rabbit in the Chinese zodiac calendar and the Year of the Cat in the Vietnamese zodiac calendar. We’re ready to dive into all the celebrations, including merchandise, food, and entertainment…so let’s go!
Atmosphere
Welcome to the Lunar New Year Celebration! California Adventure gets some stunning decorations for this festival, and we couldn’t resist snapping some photos on our way inside.
As you enter, they’ve got signs up explaining how families celebrate Lunar New Year in Vietnamese…
…Chinese…
…and Korean cultures. How fascinating!
Once we headed inside, we found that we’re not the only ones ready to celebrate! There were quite a few people around the entrance ready to get started with this exciting day.
Now that we’ve got the basics down, let’s get this party started!
Food Booths
Now it’s time to EAT! There are six different food booths at this year’s festival, including some brand new options. We can’t wait to try out these eats and drinks!
Bamboo Blessings
Who’s ready for a NEW booth?! Bamboo Blessings is making its premiere at the Lunar New Year Celebration in 2023, and we’re picking up two of the items on the menu. First is the Lucky Flight with Tsingtao Brewery, Young Master Brewery, Stereo Brewing Co., and Three Weavers Brewery for $17.50.
There’s also this Mickey Mouse-shaped Hot Dog Bun! It’s made with brioche-style Mickey Mouse-shaped buns stuffed with hot dog and finished with sesame seeds and scallions for $7.50.
