Between increasing ticket prices, Individual Lighting Lanes, and all of those Mickey Pretzels we eat throughout the day — Disney World can be a pricey vacation!
Fortunately, Disney World released a few changes recently that might lighten the pressure on wallets for select guests heading to the parks this year — like including FREE digital PhotoPass downloads for attraction photos with the purchase of Genie+ on a given day! Another welcome change has been the return of free parking for select guests, but parking fees are still a reality for many who come to the parks. So who still has to pay? Let’s take a look.
So who gets to park for free?
Earlier this month, Disney shared, among multiple other changes, that Disney Resort hotel guests would receive complimentary overnight self-parking at their hotel (in addition to free standard parking at the theme parks)!
This was a perk that had long since gone away, and many are thrilled to see its return. Staying at a Disney Resort has other benefits, like early theme park entry and early access to purchase Individual Lightning Lane entry.
Another group that gets to park for free is Annual Passholders. While all Annual Pass sales, except for the Pixie Pass, are paused right now, those with a pass get free standard parking at the theme parks.
Lastly, those visiting Disney Springs and Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park can all park for free!
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is still closed currently, but in the past, parking was free for guests there, as well.
So, who has to pay?
Well, all other guests still have to pay for parking at the theme parks. Currently, standard parking for a car or motorcycle costs $25 per day and is good at all 4 theme parks throughout the day of purchase — Magic Kingdom park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Preferred parking is also available for cars and motorcycles, and the price fluctuates based on the season from $45 to $50 per day. If you’re in an oversized vehicle, like a shuttle, limo, camper trailer, RV, bus, or tractor, parking is $30 per day.
There are a number of electric vehicle charging stations available in Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and EPCOT, as well as in Disney Springs. To use these ChargePoint stations, you will need a credit card or ChargePoint card, and the cost for these stations is $0.35 per kilowatt hour, with a minimum purchase of $1.50.
Unfortunately for some, parking fees aren’t going anywhere, so make sure you’re prepared for your next Disney vacation.

I’d be nice if Disneyland Resort allowed Annual Passholders to park for free. It’s $30.00 over at Disneyland.
