The opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run is right around the corner!
TRON officially opens on April 4th, and we recently found out tons of new information about the attraction. The ride will use Virtual Queue and Individual Lightning Lane, offer complimentary lockers for guests, and provide adaptive seating to those not comfortable using the bicycle seats. Now, we know even more about the important details of this ride: the minimum height requirement!
According to Disney, the minimum height requirement for TRON Lightcycle / Run will be 48″ (122cm).
In comparison, many of Disney’s mid-level rides have a 40″ height requirement, like Dinosaur, Soarin’ Around the World, and Test Track, while some of the more intense rides have a 44″ height requirement, like Avatar: Flight of Passage and Space Mountain.
The only other ride in the 4 Disney World theme parks that requires a height of 48″ is Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, so this will be a bit stricter than most of the other rides at Disney.
Disney bases these height requirements on a number of factors, such as the ride vehicle and restraints, and they are an important part of keeping guests safe. Don’t forget you can have a Cast Member check your child’s height when you enter the park so that you know what they’ll be tall enough to ride throughout the day!
