It’s not every day that we run across a food item at Disneyland that really makes us do a double take, and yet this is the dish that made us do just that!
Disneyland Resort is currently celebrating Lunar New Year and this menu item was turning all the heads. Festival snacks found at Paradise Garden Grill typically complement the festival celebrations, and most of the items we ate there were *chef’s kiss* super tasty. However, we think we’ve run across one of the most unique food items you can eat in Disneyland!
Allow us to introduce the Sweet and Sour Whole Fish! The menu marked this item as “new” but we’ve seen similar versions of this offering in the past. This dish is served family-style for two and comes with steamed rice and stir-fried vegetables. It also came with a hefty price of $27.99.Â
If seeing a whole fish on your plate will make you lose your appetite, this particular snack is definitely one you’ll want to skip. This year’s version had a LOT of bones inside the fish and it tasted super fishy. Although whole-fried fish can be very tasty when served just right, we weren’t big fans of this particular option.
If you were looking to try this dish out for yourself you’ll need to do so soon! Disneyland’s Lunar New Year festival celebration will be ending on February 15th, 2023.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen full-fried fish served by Disney! Tiffins at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World has been spotted serving up some huge (and dangerous) whole-fish platters.
You’ll want to be careful of the bones and how you’re picking apart these and the Sweet and Sour Fish at Disneyland to keep from interrupting your dining experience, not to mention the rest of your Disney vacation. Of course, if this is too weird for you (we get it!) we’ve got a few other Lunar New Year eats that were real wins with us!
The Raspberry Oat Milk Tea at Longevity Noodle Co. was delightful as well as the Red Spice Fried Chicken Bites at Red Dragon Spice Traders. Both of these favorite menu options also were significantly cheaper than the Sweet and Sour Fish for two. We’ve also got a complete list of the BEST things we found to eat and drink at Disneyland’s Lunar New Year celebration to keep from turning your stomach!
