It hasn’t been that long since we last reported on the initial changes we observed during Splash Mountain’s first days fully closed.

Disney is certainly not wasting any time when it comes to changing Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! We’ve got a few more changes to report that may not have been as noticeable to an unsuspecting guest!
One change that’s more obvious than the others is the addition of new “Tiana’s Foods” signs all along the construction walls around this ride.

These signs point to the story behind the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride. Princess Tiana wants to further bring the community together, so she starts an employee-owned company called Tiana’s Foods, where she and her employees work together to make food products and help members of the community become business people. You’ll see other nods to this storyline when the new ride opens in late 2024!

There was quite a buzz at the removal of the pressed penny machines that were taken out of the Frontierland attraction area. In total, Splash Mountain used to be home to three different pressed penny machines and so far we’ve only spotted two of those machines placed back around the attraction.

Both the pressed penny machines by the Frontierland bathrooms (closest to the former ride’s queue line) were replaced however, and because of the construction walls, the machine closest to the queue was relocated as close as it could be to its original location. The machine that sat inside the Splash Down Photos shop has not made a return, and we’re not quite sure if we’ll be seeing it again until after that building is reopened for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Another change we couldn’t help but notice was the addition of much taller construction walls surrounding the outside of the ride’s building facade.

Initially, shorter barriers were hurriedly put in place to barricade the ride, but within just a few days of closing construction workers had these taller plywood boards in their place. We’ve also noticed the once-green scrim around the outside perimeter has been swapped out for darker colors making it harder to see through them.
A more subtle change that caught our attention is the removal of the signage on the Frontierland play area. While it appears the play area may be here to stay (at least for now), it caught our attention that the sign once calling it the “Laughin’ Place” is now removed.

We looked high and low to report on even just the slightest change and caught this last one! It appears that several props within the Splash Mountain queue line have been tagged for inventory and removal. We have no further word yet if Disney intends to keep them and repurpose them here in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure or replace them entirely.

The Props from Splash Mountain tagged for inventory should be auctioned off. Loyal Disney fans would love having them for memories.
This was so sad to read. I hope they sell the props and not destroy them. The laughing place sign on the play area was extra sad.
You would have thought, as long as they’ve been planning this transition they would have had the props built already for the new ride.
I agree with Don. What happened to Disney Auctions which used to be linked to EBay? Bought a few nice pieces from that site.
It’s disgusting that Imagineers are bragging about how happy they are that items from Splash Mountain are being shredded. Fans would love to have them!
