It’s February, and you know what that means… .
It means it’s time to eat ALL the Valentine’s Day snacks in Disney World! So far we’ve tried an Almond Cheesecake Heart, Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookies, a Valentine’s Day Donut, and more! Now we’re trying what might be the PRETTIEST Valentine’s Day treat so far, a Love Letter Cupcake.
Here’s the description for the cupcake: it’s supposed to be a chocolate cupcake with strawberry pastry cream, chocolate mousse, and buttercream. Okay, well, the first thing we noticed is how photogenic it is. Look at those pretty buttercream roses and that cute letter on top.
One thing you might notice is that there is a LOT of buttercream on there, so if that’s not your thing, keep that in mind.
In our opinion, all cupcakes should have roses on them! 🌹 pic.twitter.com/ssCvXZ1MI5

BUT…there’s a big problem with it. Notice how it was supposed to be a chocolate cupcake? This isn’t chocolate. This is a vanilla cupcake. Interesting… . However, you can see the chocolate mousse inside it. We did ask a Cast Member about this, and they weren’t sure why it didn’t match the description.
The truth is, though, we have NO complaints about the vanilla cupcake — it was nice and moist. The strawberry cream added a creamy texture in the center, and the strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla flavors WORKED really well together. In fact, we think we’re pretty happy that this cupcake was NOT chocolate. We will say that the chocolate mousse wasn’t as creamy as we expected.
Um…the cross section of that cute rose-covered cupcake is certainly…unexpected? Sometimes it may be what’s on the outside that counts 😂 pic.twitter.com/OGLrSyjCcS

This is not the first time we’ve seen the Love Letter Cupcake — there was a version of it at Port Orleans French Quarter Resort back in 2020 without the roses. A new version of the cupcake popped up at the Polynesian in 2022 and although it looks similar to this year’s version, it had a chocolate cupcake with chocolate hazelnut mousse. YUM.
However, if you want to try this year’s cupcake for yourself, it’s available for a limited time for $6.49. Find it at Good’s Food To Go at Disney’s Old Key West Resort or at The Artist’s Palette at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. Meanwhile, we’ll keep trying ALL the Valentine’s Day treats in Disney World, so stay tuned for more reviews!

One might claim that NO CUPCAKE, no matter how good, can possibly be in itself worth the trip to a resort you’re not staying at. In particular one needs to be pretty knowledgable to get to OKW or Saratoga Springs.
