SOON, we’ll all be entering the Grid.
That’s right, TRON Lightcycle / Run at Disney World opens on April 4th, but we’ve seen it testing recently AND Cast Members are already previewing the ride. We even got a look at what Cast Members working the ride will be wearing. Now, though, we’ve got a VIDEO of the ride experience!
Disney posted a point-of-view video giving you the opportunity to virtually ride the TRON ride in Magic Kingdom! The video was taken at night, which seems to be when you’ll get the best ride experience.
>◎//: Welcome users. Cast Member preview testing has begun, error detected in simulation footage. Are you ready? TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by @Enterprise opens officially 04/04/23 at Magic Kingdom. 🥏 pic.twitter.com/HLmDwJgjBu

One thing we noticed — the video is…well…short. However, Disney commented “404 error code – footage in question must be seen in person.” so it doesn’t seem like this is the full ride. It does look FAST with a super cool launch that should please thrill seekers. We also know the ride has adaptive seating for those who can’t comfortably sit on the lightcycle vehicles.
Note that there will be no standby line for the TRON ride when it opens. Instead, you’ll have to grab a boarding pass for the virtual queue, similar to how previous new rides have been introduced. However, if you DON’T grab a boarding pass, or just don’t want to stress out over it, you will be able to buy the Individual Lightning Lane option to ride.
Guests will also have to store their larger belongings in lockers, although there is a small enclosed case on the vehicles to store smaller items (like phones). This will be the first time that Disney World has required guests to use lockers for a ride.
We’ll continue to keep you updated on TRON Lightcycle / Run leading up to its grand opening, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!

Typical MK ride. Uncomfortable/impossible for anyone tall or wide to experience.

If the guardians of the galaxy ride and space mountain had a baby… meet TRON!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤔🤔🤔

I’m glad they have the adaptive seating. Why can’t they have similar seating on 7 Dwarves Mine Train and Flight of Passage?

Not for me…

I took my dad and my sister on the ride as my guests and we all loved it! Even the line itself was one of the coolest parts about this experience, we all took so many photos and videos. I haven’t seen my family this excited over a ride in a while, thank you so much for this amazing experience Disney!

This ride is not worth the hype. Really pathetic rollercoaster. At no point will you ever feel the sensation of thrill. Took longer to grab stuff out of locker than the ride itself. Please do not waste money buying ticket to this ride. If you can grab a virtual queue then try it out but if you have to wait more than an hour for this you’re wasting your life. The entire management that oversaw this ride should be fired since they clearly have wasted years of Disney’s money by pretending to know how to build a good ride.
