They say January is the slowest month of the year, but it doesn’t feel that way when it comes to Disney news!
The first month of 2023 zipped by thanks to tons of news, including the closure of an attraction as well as the start of Disney’s 100th Anniversary celebrations. February is here and has already brought its fair share of updates!
The Disney100 celebration is now in full swing, bringing new merchandise and treats along with it. Plus with the opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run on the way and construction underway over at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Magic Kingdom is busy. That’s why we’re here to keep you up to date! Keep reading to check out what’s been happening in Magic Kingdom recently.
Magic Kingdom Food Updates
Main Street Confectionery
Valentine’s Day is in full bloom! If you want to buy sweets for your sweetheart, the Main Street Confectionery is the place to go. They have a variety of Valentine’s Day-themed snacks, like these Candied Mickey Apples covered in red and pink candies for $12.99 each.
We also spotted some tasty Mickey-shaped cereal treats for $6.49 each …
… as well as these chocolate-covered marshmallows for $5.49 each.
Magic Kingdom Construction Updates
TRON Lightcycle / Run
We are counting down the days until the opening of this new ride! Here’s a view from the PeopleMover of the current state of the ride. That little blue sign points visitors over to the pathway that leads to Storybook Circus, so you’ll be able to access TRON from 2 different pathways.
We also checked out what’s going on BEHIND the attraction…
…and discovered a big crane! Disney Cast Members are likely working on some construction or cleaning over here. One Cast Member told us that they have been hard at work cleaning off Space Mountain recently due to dust that’s kicked up by the construction on TRON.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Speaking of cranes … we spotted one over by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (previously Splash Mountain) too.
We also saw new “Tiana’s Foods” signs as a hint of what’s to come!
Since we first spotted these signs, they’ve now added lanterns for a cozy New Orleans feel.
Space Mountain
Not all of the goings-on have to do with new rides being built or current rides being torn down. Space Mountain was getting a nice pressure wash bath!
Some Cast Members nearby were also working on sprucing up the landscaping.
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe
This retail favorite currently has a temporary wall splitting the store in half, so don’t be surprised the next time you head in!
You can still visit to shop for Christmastime gifts and souvenirs, but there are fewer items available for now while Disney works on refurbishing part of the store.
Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
Nearby, poor Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. was still missing its sign.
We still don’t know when it will return, but we’re keeping an eye out!
