Love is in the air, and it smells like sugary Disney snacks! With Valentine’s Day approaching, we are trying all the sweets that pop up in the parks, and so far, we have not been disappointed.
Today’s snack review brings us to Kona Island at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. We found a pair of cupcakes (yes, that’s two desserts in one) themed to some of our favorite valentines! If you’re looking for things to do at Disney with your significant other or loved ones, we definitely suggest trying these cupcakes for yourself. To convince you, we’ll give you a preview!
The Stitch & Angel Date Night Valentine Vanilla Cupcakes at Kona Island are $13 for both and perfect for your next Disney date night. This duo consists of an Angel cupcake (vanilla cupcake with peanut butter mousse and jelly filling) and a Stitch cupcake (vanilla cupcake with peanut butter mousse and chocolate filling). You can even get heart-shaped sprinkles on the side for some extra indulgence!
They look good, but what do they taste like? We know that Disney cupcakes have a history of being a little too dry at times, so we were hoping that wouldn’t be the case with these cupcakes, and we were not disappointed.
We tried the Angel cupcake first, and it was our favorite out of the two. The cupcake was moist and light, and the peanut butter mousse combined with the jelly filling gave us the classic taste of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich — very similar to Smucker’s Uncrustables!
The Stitch cupcake was good, but the chocolate filling was a bit… much. Once again, the cupcake itself was light and moist, but the chocolate filling wasn’t our favorite. It was very overwhelmingly sweet for us.
If you’re looking for a dessert that’s perfect for a Valentine’s date night at Disney, this snack is definitely a must-try. It’s perfect for the peanut butter and chocolate lovers. However, if you don’t prefer chocolate or peanut butter, you may wanna skip this one. We also found that the icing was very rich, so be wary of that before grabbing this one as well. (We know how controversial icing can be.)
Overall, we’d recommend this snack to anyone who has a sweet tooth and is looking for a quick dessert to eat while walking around. We promise your sweet tooth will be satisfied after this one!
If you’re looking for more snacks to try during your next trip to Disney, you’re in the right place! We are always trying new Disney snacks and posting reviews here so that you can try them for yourselves the next time you’re in the parks.
