Tron strikes me, after three rides, as very similar to its next-door neighbor dark ride Space Mountain with different graphics and ride vehicle, a less engaging preshow, and a more exciting takeoff akin to Rock-n-Rollercoaster.
Granted that I rode during daylight; night-time surely enhances the outdoor arc, which is pretty mundane without those lighting effects we’ve seen from afar. Here’s one where the afternoon boarding groups are likely to be more sought-after in hopes of a ride after sundown.
Don’t expect a Guardians-level story or ride experience and you shouldn’t be disappointed. Guardians remains the bar by which all others will be judged for a long, long time.

And I forgot to thank my Cast-Member-friend who made it possible for me to experience Tron yesterday!

Cool, but not exactly what I remember in the original Tron movie. Kinda like space mountain with more visuals
Mary Horvath says
It is an amazing ride. We were able to ride it a few days ago and will try to get on it during the passholder preview. Once it opens, it will be impossible to get on unless they use virtual for a little while.

It took that long to build a ride that only lasts less than 90 seconds? Given the lines to be expected and the cost of Genie+, I’ll pass.
Lucretia Kleinman says
Do you think they’ll let visitors during the Magic Kingdom After Hours event in March test the ride? Hope so and counting on it!
Beth says
Can I ride Tron while in my manual wheelchair. I saw a ride car with a wheelchair insignia and was wondering. Thanks.
DFB Gigi says
Hi Beth! There is no way to ride while still in your wheelchair, unfortunately. You would need to transfer from the wheelchair to the ride vehicle if you have help. There is a bench seat to make that transfer easier, however.

being virtual queue only and genie plus forget it, its not doable, they have made all of this so complicated and costly we dont even want to be bothered. To have to win a lottery to get a ride time etc is ridiculous, Id like to see d’amaro and his terrible park management teams try to do it. they dont know and they dont care as long as the extra $$$ flows in. keep feeding the monsters folks and pretty soon none of us will be allowed to visit, except for disney plus members, thats what its coming down it and how they want it. don’t think its too far fetched either, this is the direction they are moving in, restricting entry to resort guests adn disney plus members only. making attractions based on disney plus programs,,,such as the tiana mess.

Completely lost out on passholder preview. Never received email, plus we understand that a link was put out there and all openings were taken shortly after midnight. I will NEVER pay extra for a ride. Being a passholder is expensive enough. Very disappointed.
Danielle says
I don’t know how people are comparing this ride to Space Mountain! It’s absolutely nothing like it! Guardians makes me nauseated with all the spinning. I can’t wait to ride Tron! Absolutely reminds me of the movie!
