The bakery located at Disney Springs (and East End Market in Orlando) is known for its delicious half-pound cookies and giant cake slices. In fact, it’s so popular that guests will wait in a multi-hour virtual queue just to try the sweets. So is there any way to get the cookies if you’re NOT in Central Florida…or will there be in the future?
Recently, Gideon’s Bakehouse owner Steve Lewis shared a post on Instagram addressing the requests of many loyal fans for Gideon’s to open up shipping. Lewis states, “The requests and many wishes for shipping have been growing. I’m super grateful you love what we’re doing and don’t want to miss out, but there are no plans to offer mail-order desserts.”
“Gideon’s has always been a local from-scratch bakery aiming to create memories for our community and visiting friends. Our team is comically large to satisfy local demand. Meeting a national demand is logistically impossible. I would have to automate the process to take this step, which removes what makes Gideon’s unique. I like being a small local business. I have no backers. I will not franchise and be yet another cookie place in every other shopping plaza in your town. Getting all your monies doesn’t motivate me.”

“I’d rather be sure your experience is the best we can make it, and that won’t happen by spreading myself too thin or letting in development partners. Maybe someday, a third location somewhere interesting, but I’m careful with my baby. Thank you for understanding the vision for this little place. For those living outside of Florida, the anticipation for your next visit grows within us both because we can’t wait to see you again.”

So if you’re hoping for shipping in the future — it’s a no-go. Part of the charm of Gideon’s Bakehouse is the fact that the cookies are made with care, and it’s hard to keep that going with national demand. But maybe one day we’ll get a third location! Where would you like to see another Bakehouse?

They need a third location by UCF
I would say Mall of America somI can get them all the time instead of my annual trip.
Do they mobile order. I’m going in December and it would be kool to be able to try their cookies without a LOOOOOOONG line.
Mr Lewis you have my full respect. Your cookies look Beyond AWESOME! and I have never had the opportunity to try one, but to hear someone who is so proud of their product that they refuse to sell it to the highest bidder is amazing👍. I hope to some day make it back down to Disney World, but it seems very unlikely with all the price increases, but if I do forget MK and Epcot….. I’m heading to Gideon’s!
That is great. It’s nice that a business is more interested in being a local superstar with quality merchandise than being a large company that loses control of quality and service.
I hate to be the different one but I think these are the most overrated Disneyworld snack

Good for them! Keep it small. Keep it unique. Don’t let the corporate folks in. They will ruin the business.
WE had a GBH cookie back during our Christmas trip to WDW. It was very good; I am glad that they want to stay “local” my waistline appreciates it as well.
I’m not normally a sweet eater but these are beyond amazing! I understand your decision to stay small and not to fill them with preservatives. I assure anyone reading this.. None can compare!

While we like the cookies at Gideon’s, on two recent trips the queue was waayyyyy too long for cookies. When we would have to wait longer than the longest ride standby line, it’s just not worth it. Dole Whip to the rescue! Sorry, GBH.
we love this bakehouse but we also wish another location will be in Georgia because we’re from Georgia so it would be another new location there for sure so we can have those whenever we’re in mood for their cakes and cookies even try cold brews
Actually I hope in Georgia in Atlanta will be best because of not so far away My family and I really hope so we really love their cookies and cakes

The blatantly obvious choice for a 3rd location is the Downtown Disney area of Disneyland!
Austin, TX is in desperate need of a delicious snack destination! Gideon’s would definitely fit in with the funky Austin vibe. Please consider making this Texas girl happy!!
No shipping no big deal, one of the things that make them special is only available in this shop and the shop in Orlando. On my last trip I did learn that the line on weekday mornings wasn’t to bad with no virtual line to get into 1st. Just sorry they didn’t work out something with the expanding and changing Downtown Disney in California to open their 3rd store their.
