Planning a trip to Orlando? Well, if you’re planning to fly there, there’s an UPDATE you need to know about.
If you’ll be flying to Orlando you’ll likely find yourself at Orlando International Airport (though there are other options). We’ve seen all kinds of updates from the airport lately, including adjustments that could make your trip less stressful, the opening of new restaurants, and announcements about potential future changes. But now we’ve got more information for you!
A NEW route has been added for Orlando International Airport! According to a post from the airport on Twitter, Norse Atlantic Airways has added a new route that’ll connect London Gatwick to Orlando International Airport. Flights from Orlando to London Gatwick will start on May 25th, 2023 and fares begin at $187 (one-way).
In a press release from Norse Atlantic Airways, they detailed how the sale of tickets for their route connecting London Gatwick and Orlando is available. Note that Norse also launched a new route from London Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale as well. The flights to Fort Lauderdale will start on May 26th.
They’ve shared that “Flights [from London Gatwick] to Orlando will operate four times a week in May and June.” Then there will be a “daily service in the height of the summer peak season.” Flights to Fort Lauderdale, on the other hand, “will operate three times a week in May and June and four times a week for the rest of the summer season.”
Bjorn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways, said, “We are very pleased to announce two new routes from London Gatwick to the popular holiday destination of Florida…As a result, our UK based airline, Norse Atlantic UK, will serve more destinations to the US from London Gatwick than any other carrier this summer.”
Stewart Wingate, chief executive officer of Gatwick Airport shared, “Both Orlando and Fort Lauderdale are understandably very popular destinations, especially among families, so it’s great news for passengers across London and the Southeast to have more choice ahead of the summer holidays.”
When we searched the Norse website, it did look like most of the flights to/from Orlando (that we checked) were non-stop but, of course, be sure to check and see what the situation is like when you go to book your trip.
So if you’re hoping to travel between London Gatwick and Orlando, know that this new route from Norse will soon be available! We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more travel news and let you know what we see.
