Get excited, because we are one step closer to the opening of Tiana’s Palace — a new Princess and the Frog themed restaurant that is making its way to Disneyland later this year.

With construction beginning on the new restaurant, though, we unfortunately have to say goodbye to a popular eatery at Disneyland. 

This is just a reminder that the French Market Restaurant is closing permanently on February 17th, 2023, to make way for Tiana’s Palace. The Mint Julep Bar is also closing on this date, but will reopen once Tiana’s Palace opens! So while those fan-favorite Mickey beignets will be missing from the location for a while, they should return with that bar once it reopens later this year.

UPDATE: Good news! You’ll still be able to get Mickey beignets, even while the Mint Julep Bar is closed. Just head over to the Royal Street Veranda, where you can get a 3-pack of Mickey-shaped beignets topped with powdered sugar for $4.99. This spot is also serving the New Orleans Mint Julep for $5.29.

While we’re sad to say goodbye to French Market, we’re so excited to welcome Tiana’s Palace, which has concept art that looks very similar to Tiana’s restaurant in the Disney film! We can expect the restaurant to have an elegant atmosphere with elements of classic New Orleans architecture. Of course, there will be plenty of New Orleans-inspired food as well.
