It’s a holiday weekend in Disney World — and you know what that means.
It means a LOT of people are in Disney World right now. We’ve already seen wait times begin to skyrocket, we imagine getting advance dining reservations is hard right now, AND Genie+ got up to $29 per person per day and then sold out for the first time EVER in Disney World. But you might not believe how busy it is until you see the photos.
Resorts
We popped by Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this weekend and noticed it seemed a little busier than normal, at least for midday. But a lot of folks were enjoying the sunny weather around the resort.
We also saw a lot of people waiting to get into ‘Ohana.
Sure, this doesn’t look TOO bad, but wait until you see what we saw in the parks!
Magic Kingdom
Just trying to drive into Magic Kingdom this morning required a little patience — there were long lines of cars headed to the Transportation and Ticket Center.
There were LOADS of people headed toward the ferry boats and the Monorail.
There were a lot of people waiting to get into the park, too, even after its official opening time.
Main Street, U.S.A. was bustling.
Fantasyland usually has its choke points, but they were worse today. Also, there’s a HUGE line for the TEACUPS? Yikes. Although it looks pretty busy and Genie+ sold out, the wait times seem like any other busy weekend in Disney World.
We’ll keep an eye on the crowds, which we expect to continue into tomorrow through the three-day weekend. Right now, park pass reservations are completely sold out for every park EXCEPT Animal Kingdom today. Tomorrow, park pass reservations are currently sold out for Magic Kingdom.Â

We have been Platinum Annual Passholders for decades (out of state). We used to plan our trips to include two weekends and numbering from 11 to 14 days. NOT any more! Due to the reservation system , we are skipping even trying to get a Saturday or Sunday reservation.

We were there this weekend for a band trip, and it did not feel as crowded as it did during Winter break. Our daughter goes to high school next year and she will no longer get President’s Day off, which is a bummer! I really enjoyed getting away for a few days.
