Deciding where to eat on your Disney World trip might be one of the toughest decisions you’ll make!
Are you sticking with quick-service meals, or carving out some time for table-service dining? What about booking a character meal? If you’re planning your next trip, we have news about a dining change that might help you decide!
Topolino’s Terrace is one of Disney World’s newer restaurants, and it has quickly become a DFB favorite! Located in Disney’s Riviera Resort, you can enjoy exciting character meals at breakfast along with delicious dinner entrees and drinks too. Topolino’s has been one of our favorite character breakfasts since it opened, featuring Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy and a prix fixe menu.
Not only do the characters make this breakfast meal one of our favorites, but we also had a pretty sweet dining hack for this spot. At breakfast, you could order your entree choice — but you could also order additional entrees as sides so you could try more than one.
Think of it like a combo of prix fixe and all you care to enjoy, but at breakfast only.
Unfortunately, that is no longer an option at Topolino’s Terrace. Cast Members at the restaurant confirmed that you can’t order additional entrees as sides anymore. They also confirmed that the prices would NOT be changing, but that they are “maybe” making the entrees larger to compensate for this change — we haven’t seen anything just yet.
Topolino’s Terrace is still a great choice for a character breakfast at Disney World. Since it’s at Riviera Resort, it’s located along the Skyliner route with easy access to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and multiple resorts on property. We’ve got reviews of all the character meals in Disney World to help you decide, and you can check them out below.

So wait it’s $45 for one entree ? the last couple of months you got one full entree and 1/2 another !
It’s not worth it at $45 for one entree
Maren E Slaugh says
That is a bummer, we are having breakfast there in March. Are the pastry baskets “all you care to enjoy” or are they once they are out, you can’t get more?
Jules says
No wonder I could find a reservation- this is so disappointing! We were there for the grand opening and have been several times since. We didn’t order all the entrees, but I wanted the steak with a side of waffles- if this doesn’t change before our trip I will be cancelling this reservation! They already ruined several places with prefix menus, yes California Grill I’m talking about you. Space 220 is also crazy overpriced for what they offer. Planning to try Rodeo Roundup- just booked it, but will be watching the reviews.
Come on WDW! You can do better
Lyn says
Considering most character dining seem to charge about $10 per character, $45 isn’t bad even for a prix fixe.
Chrystie says
Why are people so shocked at having to pay the regular price for one entree? You do it at every other character meal on property. It’s $45 at Cinderella’s Royal Table. You’re paying for the experience, not the food.
DFB Gigi says
Hi Maren! As of right now you can still order more pastries if you run out.
RB says
Wow, that just kicked it off of our reservation list for our upcoming trip. Thanks for the info.!

Topolino’s breakfast in mid-January made us very sad.
We’d been given to understand the breakfast was what was described here — “order off the menu” but without limits. We did not know it had changed. When we arrived we were told very clearly we could order ONE entree, and get “part” of ONE other entree. Nothing else. NO, we could NOT have additional pastries.
Ooookay.
We don’t frequent Character Meals because we’re all about the food. The up-charge for the characters isn’t worth it for us, UNLESS it’s an ‘all you care to enjoy’ meal. We took the plunge with Topolino’s because we thought it was similar. We’ve had other “order off the menu — All You Care to Enjoy” meals at Disney, so we were familiar with the concept.
So yes, hearing that was not the case did start things off on a poor note. But we were all still very excited for the food.
But now I can say I’ve had a REALLY BAD meal at Disney World.
Sure, it’s not the only disappointing eating experience ever down there, but we eat out a LOT in Disney and we hand-wave an individually disappointing item or two. A lot can be ascribed to a matter of individual taste and if other things at the restaurant balance out, we’ll give them another go, no question. Order something different! There are currently only three restaurants on our “no go” list in ALL of WDW (resorts, Disney Springs, and parks). We’ve had some meals that weren’t thrilling, but when you come down to it? I can literally count on *one hand* the number of BAD meals we’ve had at WDW, and we’ve eaten ALL over the World, many many MANY times per year, for many many MANY years in a row.
(Although I gotta say, this trip DID have its food bumps — Olivia’s served us SOMETHING as the banana bread pudding, that was MOST DEFINITELY NOT the banana bread pudding. In that instance I was *puzzled* and sad.)
We were three guests at Topolino’s. Myself, my wife, and my sister — and we all experienced this breakfast as BAD. Not just “not great” – bad enough we didn’t finish eating. For us? VERY unusual. But none of our Topolino’s entrees tasted good. Even the EGG dishes tasted weird (and we all love eggs).
Maybe it was an off day for the kitchen or something?
I don’t know, but with three of us at the table, we all tried all the things we’d ordered. None of it tasted good to any of the three of us. (There was no issue of overdone/underdone.) If it had just been one of us? I’d write it off that maybe THAT PERSON was having an off day. But all three of us? And we’re NOT picky eaters.
So we were disappointed and sad, and also really surprised. Especially since we’d had dinner at Topolino’s earlier the same trip, and it was amazing.
We WILL go back to Topolino’s for DINNER. But for breakfast, we’ll stick with Boma.
TO GIVE CREDIT WHERE DUE BECAUSE 99 out of 100 CAST MEMBERS ROCK:
As a rule, we don’t send things back or complain at restaurants. We assume it is simply not to our taste, or whatever. (We didn’t even send back the bizarre cold banana bread with a cold sliced banana on it, with no sauce, that they served us at Olivia’s as “banana bread pudding.”) But with all the things we tried, and with all three of us at the table having the same experience, I did ask to speak to someone in this instance.
I flagged it for our waiter — and indicated ALL the food that was left even though we were leaving. (I also pointed out that the items that had been eaten, only had so much gone because all three of us tried everything, a la “does this taste right to you?”) He connected me to the manager.
She spoke to me for some time. As this was the first time I’d ever requested a manager at a restaurant in WDW, I was very gratified with her attention and time, and she did make this situation right with us. She listened to me, and asked good questions, and said they do give the kitchen specific feedback.
So, another great cast member experience.

Let me get this straight. the last person to comment. so you ordered an entree and were able to order lets say 1 waffle as well?
Sandra G says
I was surprised to read that you could get another entree, but figured it was simply a promotional thing that would go away once the restaurant found its clientele, and now it has. Shrug. While we do very few table service meals, I would be fine with paying $42 for that plate of quiche, potatoes and salad, a basket of assorted pastries, and characters. The price seems in line with other locations, and honestly? When we did a buffet character breakfast in December, I didn’t eat more than I would have been served at Topolino’s. I want to be full, but not so much I am waddling and groaning, so an entree and sides, plus a couple of pastries with coffee would work fine.
Brittany says
They also got rid of the breakfast hash!!! So sad, that was the best meal on the menu!!!
Carol says
Going back to experience the new changes. I wish they would adopt an add on menu, so that we could get a fruit plate, or a plate of waffles for the table for an additional charge. I like to have fresh fruit on the table as an alternative to pastries but for a $45 meal charge to add it to the table it’s not going to happen
Christine says
Ugh this makes me sad, we had the best meal here last year and were able to order a side of waffles which was great. $45 for the steak entree is ok, but $45 for a quiche or waffles only is outrageous. Why not have an entrees section and a side section to pick from? The other character breakfasts are either buffet or all you care to enjoy for just slightly more.
Shirley says
Hi are the pastries still all you care to enjoy please we are hoping to visit for the first time ever in august
Thank your 🙂

My wife and I went this September. The unfortunate problem was the characters kept skipping our table. The few times they did stop it was a ten second stop behind my back interacting with my wife.
When leaving I was told it was because we were old and had no children with us.
Food was better than Denny’s.
