Some Disney treats, like Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars, Mickey-shaped Pretzels, and even the famous (or infamous, depending on your perspective) Turkey Legs, can be found at Disney parks on both coasts. But today we’re dedicating this post to help you track down the best DISNEYLAND treats!
For the purposes of this list, these are either snacks that you can only find in Disneyland Resort (at Disneyland park or Disney California Adventure) or snacks that Disneyland simply does them better than anywhere else. Without further ado… THIS is our list of the top snacks in Disneyland Resort for 2024!
And we’re starting with the CLASSICS…
Disneyland Classics
Mickey-Shaped Beignets
True, Disney World has Mickey-shaped Beignets these days, too. But long before the snack had EARS at Disney World’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter, Mickey-shaped Beignets had their original home at Disneyland’s Mint Julep Bar!
You can’t go wrong with the classic golden-fried Beignet generously dusted with powdered sugar. But seasonal offerings such as fall’s Pumpkin Spice Beignets and surprises like Maple Beignets with Maple-Bacon Dipping Sauce are more often than not HUGE hits as well!
Churros
Disneyland has elevated the Churro into an art form. First and foremost, even the classic Churro (a fried dough stick coated in cinnamon and sugar) is just BETTER in Disneyland. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside… the snack is so popular on its own that there are SEVERAL carts in both Disneyland AND Disney California Adventure dedicated to Churros!
But the Churro in Disneyland Resort also reaches a whole new level with frequent flavor varieties.

Monte Cristo Sandwich
We’re already back at Disneyland’s New Orleans Square to celebrate the can’t miss Monte Cristo Sandwich at Café Orleans! We’re talking about a sliced turkey, ham and Swiss cheese sandwich, which sounds pretty basic… until, that is, you consider that it’s BATTERED and FRIED, then sprinkled with powdered sugar and served up with seasonal preserves!
It’s the BEST of sweet-meets-savory, and that’s why it always makes its way onto on AJ’s list of FAVORITE FOODS in Disneyland.
That said, the Monte Cristo isn’t quite complete without…
Pommes Frites
Previously, guests could order the Pommes Frites on their own as an appetizer at Cafe Orleans. These days, the delectable parmesan-garlic fries are INCLUDED as a side option with the beloved Monte Cristo, complete with the spicy Cajun Remoulade for dipping!
Of course, you could choose a “Petit Salad” as your side instead, but… WHY?? We’ll take care of that “tough” decision for you right now. Get the Pommes Frites for some salty, cheesy, garlicky perfection!
This video from our DFB YouTube Channel is an oldie, but a goodie, and you can see more of why Cafe Orleans is a Disneyland MUST-Do!

Corn Dog
Ok, what’s so special about the Disneyland Corn Dogs? I mean, you can grab this golden fried goodie at nearly every amusement park, state fair, or carnival around the country, right? Heck, you can even find ’em in your grocery store’s freezer aisle these days. But are they freshly HAND-DIPPED?
Nope. And therein lies the difference. The process lends the perfect crunch to the thick and tasty layer of corn batter surrounding the dog, and it can’t be beat. Its homes are the Little Red Wagon on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland and Corn Dog Castle in Disney California Adventure. It’s doesn’t matter where you get one. Just GET ONE.
Of course, if you DO just so happen to find yourself at Corn Dog Castle, you should save some extra room for our next treat…
Cheddar Cheese Stick
Corn Dog Castle also boasts the Cheddar Cheese Stick! And it is NO JOKE, my friends…
Instead of a hot dog tucked into that same slightly sweet corn batter mentioned above, you’ve got ooey, gooey cheddar CHEESE… and LOTS of it!
It’s basically grilled cheese on a stick. What’s not to love?
Check out ALL THE CHEDDAR here!
Matterhorn Macaroon
Take oodles of coconut and butter, pile it high to resemble a certain Disneyland mountain and bake until golden, dip it in white chocolate to create “snow,” and you’ve got yourself a Matterhorn Macaroon!
This confection is a nod to the Matterhorn Bobsleds AND a must-try for my fellow coconut lovers! Find it these days at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe. (And if you can’t wait that long, try your hand at this Matterhorn Macaroon recipe!)
Make a Matterhorn Macaroon at HOME!
DOLE Whip
Aaah… DOLE Whip. (You had to know this was coming, didn’t you?) Now, THIS is one iconic snack that’s done equally well on BOTH coasts. In fact, DOLE Whip debuted in Disney World before it arrived at Disneyland’s Tiki Juice Bar in 1986. (Though we did give the edge to Disneyland when they used to serve the pineapple soft-serve treat with a teeny little umbrella and a cherry on top!)
But even though this twist tastes just as good whether you find yourself in Magic Kingdom or Disneyland, this cool quintessential Adventureland treat simply HAS to go on our list of Disneyland’s BEST snacks, and we think you’ll agree! Grab yours in a cup or as a Float with pineapple juice — you can’t go wrong either way.

Bengal Barbecue Skewers
My friends, I present to you… ASPARAGUS! Oh, wait… that’s not exactly what you were expecting? Well, what if I tell you I’m talking about asparagus wrapped in BACON and grilled to the perfect char?
The thing is, the Safari Skewer is just ONE of the awesome Skewers at The Bengal Barbecue!
A spicy Banyan Beef, Bengal Beef, Chieftain Chicken, Outback Vegetable, and Pork Belly Skewers make up the rest of the Skewer selection.
Pick one (or two, or three…) and ENJOY!
BONUS: Don’t forget to grab a Tiger Tail while you’re there!
New Favorites
Now that we’ve chatted about those classics, we’re sharing snacks that are more recent to the Disneyland scene that have impressed enough to land on our list. A few are brand new, while some are simply newer than the classics above and have made their snacking mark over the years. Let’s dig in!
Chili Cone Queso
Steer yourself onto Cars Land in Disney California Adventure and make a pit stop at Cozy Cone 3 at Cozy Cone Motel.
It’s here that you’ll grab yourself a Chili Cone Queso!
Beef Chili, Cheddar Cheese and Corn Chips are made PORTABLE by way of a beautiful golden Bread Cone!

Not So Little Chicken Sandwich
Did you high-tail it to the movie theater to see Ant–Man and the Wasp:Â Quantumania? The you will especially appreciate the Not so Little Chicken Sandwich at Pym Test Kitchen in Disney California Adventure’s Avengers Campus!
Then again, if you’re simply a fan of REALLY tasty FRIED CHICKEN sammies, you should make your way to the Test Kitchen, too. The savory sandwich is topped with Teriyaki and Red Chili Sauces for a little kick and Pickled Cabbage Slaw on a (teeny tiny) Brioche bun to deliver a little Ant-Man POV.
It’s served with crispy Potato Bites and altogether the entire meal is both flavorful and FUN!

Lemon Dole Whip
Yes, indeed, we mentioned DOLE Whips already in their original (and best-known) pineapple form. But when Pixar Pier opened in Disney California Adventure, it brought Lemon DOLE Whip along with it!
This just-on-the-right-side of tart refresher can be found at Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats, where it can be enjoyed in a cone or cup, “snow-capped” (topped with white chocolate) or not, or in a Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait Float (as pictured) with Blue Raspberry Swirl. (Grown-ups also have the option to try the Float with a splash of Blue Curaçao.)
Limited Time Treats
Disney 100 Year of Wonder — 100th Anniversary Snacks
The 100th Anniversary Celebration of The Walt Disney Company officially kicked off in Disneyland on January 27, 2023… and, of course, it brought plenty of NEW TREATS along with it!
Here are a few that you should get while the gettin’s good!
Celebration Cake
Snickers Sundae
The Snickers Sundae at at Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream at Disney California Adventure immediately jumped to the top of the list of the BEST NEW TREATS for the 100th Anniversary celebration! This celebratory sundae is made with butter-pecan ice cream topped with a chocolate shell, caramel sauce, whipped cream, chopped peanuts, and SNICKERS bar pieces served in a waffle cup. Need I say more?
“Yes,” you say? No problem! Check out our review of the Snickers Sundae to see why this is our MUST-GET Disney100 treat!

Holiday Snacks
Mardi Gras Snacks
This is a reminder not only to you, but also to ourselves. We need to score an Advance Dining Reservation at Disneyland’s Blue Bayou Restaurant to try their seasonal Mardi Gras meal.
Why? Because New Orleans Square knows how to celebrate Mardi Gras with style! Whether you choose to nosh on the Andouille Corn Dog or the Mardi Gras Cake, you will NOT be disappointed.
It sounds like just the thing to enjoy while watching the boats from Pirates of the Caribbean sail on by in the Bayou…
Handmade Disneyland Easter Eggs
The iconic Disneyland Easter eggs return each Easter season! These chocolate-covered fudge eggs are hugely popular and often sell out quickly at Candy Palace.
We’ve tried many different flavors of eggs over the years, like Chocolate Nut, Vanilla Nut, Chocolate Cream, Black Walnut, and (one of our personal favorites) Peanut Butter Fudge. They’re 8 ounces in size, but the fudge inside makes it feel significantly heavier.
And this year, if you’re trying to snag an egg, we’ve got a BIG surprise for you! In 2024, the eggs are available on Mobile Order at Candy Palace. No need to stand outside in a long line anymore! You can access Mobile Order through the Disneyland app. This year, the eggs are ONLY available through Mobile Order.
Handmade Disneyland Candy Cane
Okay, so… our final 2024 MUST-HAVE Disneyland snack may not be available again until December, but heed our words… once the 2024 Holiday Season rolls around in Disneyland, you’ll be glad you started strategizing about how to get your hands on one of the FAMOUS HANDMADE DISNEYLAND CANDY CANES now!
You see, the Candy Canes are typically created on alternating days in December in the two parks throughout the season. For 2023, the locations and dates were as follows (Stay tuned for 2024 information!):
- Candy Palace at Disneyland Park: December 4th, 6th, 11th, 13th, 18th, 20th, and 24th
- Trolley Treats at Disney California Adventure Park: December 5th, 7th, 12th, 14th, 19th, 21st, and 25th
But that’s not all there is to know! For the past two years, Disneyland has utilized a Virtual Queue to manage the lines that form for this popular Disneyland tradition.
So, what makes them so special? These, my friends, are not your typical candy canes. Each one is hand-pulled and measures eighteen inches long. They’re lovely to look at…
… and — take it from us — devastating to break!
And they sell out QUICKLY. But don’t you fret… We will keep you posted RIGHT HERE when information for 2024 is released.
In fact, we’ll stay busy keeping you posted on ALL THE BEST SNACKS in Disneyland as the year goes on, and we hope you’ll continue to join us at The Happiest Place on Earth!
