The Orlando Brightline train project just hit another major milestone!
We can’t wait for the new route to open, and after recently learning a bit more about the project’s opening timeline we’ve been no-so-patiently waiting for any update we can get. And now, the Orlando Brightline train expansion is one step closer to being complete.
Brightline recently announced its goal of starting service from Orlando to West Palm Beach in the second quarter of 2023, sharing that the 170-mile expansion is now 90% complete.
And now, per WESH2, the final train in the new Brightline fleet has arrived in Central Florida! Bright Orange 2 completed its 10-day journey and is the 10th train in the Orlando fleet, which will service the West Palm to Orlando route.
This means we’re one step closer to finally being able to climb aboard and get around Central Florida!
Brightline’s 37,350-square foot station at the Orlando Airport will be complete in March, though the completion of the station and the start of passenger service “are on separate timelines.”
Plans are moving forward with the Sunshine Corridor expansion as well, which will connect even more stations around greater Orlando, including a possible stop near Disney World and even an expansion to Tampa.
We’ll be keeping up with the latest Brightline train updates that might impact your Disney World trip — be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more.
