Disney Cruise Line is celebrating 25 years at sea this summer!
For the occasion, you’ll find limited-time entertainment, shimmering decorations, and characters decked out in their best sparkly outfits. As part of the countdown to this anniversary, Disney has shared details of a NEW tier of Castaway Club — a loyalty program for Disney Cruise Line guests.
In order to thank their most loyal cruisers, Disney is launching a “Pearl” tier on May 1st, inspired by the time it takes a pearl to be formed in nature. Guests who have sailed on 25 or more Disney Cruise Line vacations will soon be a part of this top-tier membership and have access to more rewards and perks than previously offered.
Unlimited Digital Downloads
Disney cruises have professional photographers all around the ship, ready to capture the memories of your vacation.
Starting May 1st, Pearl Castaway Club members will have access to unlimited complimentary digital downloads, so you’ll be able to remember your cruise in style for years to come.
Early Access to Cruise Reservations
Disney has so many cruise ships to offer, with tons of different itineraries. With this new tier, members will have access to booking their vacation before the general public.
Pearl Castaway Club members will have a new booking window that opens four days earlier than regular guests.
Early Access to Cruise Customizations
Access to cruise bookings ahead of time isn’t the only early-access perk Pearl members will get. Disney cruises have all kinds of customizations — character dining experiences, adult-only beverage tasting seminars, Port Aventures, and Senses Spa & Salon appointments are all activities that you’ll be able to schedule early.
As a Pearl member, the booking window for scheduling activities opens 123 days before the date of their next cruise beginning late this summer.
Stateroom Surprises
All Castaway Club members will have access to welcome gifts awaiting them in their staterooms this summer — but Pearl members will be getting an extra special surprise.
This summer, they will receive a pair of pearlescent tumblers that feature the Disney Cruise Line logo on one side, and “Castaway Club” on the other.
Complimentary Dinner at Palo
Pearl members will also be getting a new dining perk starting this summer.
Those in this new tier will be able to book a complimentary dining experience at Palo, an Italian-inspired, adult-only restaurant loved by many Castaway Club members.
If you’re interested in these perks, good news! While these are specifically for guests who have been on 25 cruises, anyone who has been on a Disney Cruise is part of the Castaway Club — so you can get started earning benefits today. Complimentary dinner at Palo has always been a perk for anyone with Platinum status on DCL. That is not a new perk they are providing.
DeadMouse says
What? Only 25 trips to get the perks? I’ll be taking trips when I’m in my grave I guess.
Nancy Ogrod says
I wish DCL counted nights instead of just cruises. Those of us that take the longer cruises should get as much credit as those that take the short 3-4 day jaunts. For example, we have only taken 13 cruises, but that adds up to 119 nights compared to someone who takes 25 three day cruises for 75 nights. Fortunately, the extra benefits for Pearl level are not going to make that much difference for us, but it might for some families.
Ken says
The perks are non existent for Castaways Platinum members. I was on the Wish las October (never again) could not get near a reservation at Palo, booked up on day one…never got to eat there. Beyond that, I did not care for the Wish at all. I will cruise again on a competitor ship, but not the Wish. terrible. I will travel again on the FANTACY…
Lisa Battaglia says
Just to confirm, nothing has changed for Platinum, we didn’t lose anything. The only addition for Pearl level members is a slightly earlier booking by 3 days and complimentary photos. The Complimentary meal at Palo is there for both sailing levels. https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/why-cruise-disney/castaway-club/
And totally agree, we should be leveled by night and not by each sailing. I’ve done quite a few long-length cruises, via Transatlantic (14 nights), and Hawaii (11 nights) and to give everyone the same credit is unacceptable. But 25 years and no changes to that so probably never going to happen.

I agree with a couple of the previous comments. We travel a significant distance just to get to the ports so chose the longer itineraries, 7 day is our minimum and will usually add a Disney Adventure before or after the cruise to make it a significant vacation. So many people have the luxury of living near the ports and take a 3 day cruise a couple of weekends a month, but get to count 2 cruises to my 1. No fairness in that and speaking to a lot of people on my recent Panama Cruise who were in the same situation are actually souring a bit on the Disney Cruise Line, no benefits to remaining loyal.
