WARNING: We strongly recommend not reading this post while hungry — grab a snack and then come right back!
The 2023 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival has officially begun and there is SO much to try. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, unique topiaries to check out, merchandise to grab, and even concerts to watch. We know it seems like a lot, but we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the Trowel & Trellis Hosted by IMPOSSIBLE Foods Booth — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? We’re about to find out together!
Menu
Over at the Trowel & Trellis Hosted by IMPOSSIBLE Foods Booth, you can grab three snacks (all plant-based!) and four drinks.

So, enough with the chit-chat, let’s get to the food!
Food
First, we grabbed the Boneless IMPOSSIBLE Korean Short Rib which comes with cilantro-lime rice, Danmuji slaw (Danmuji is pickled radish!), and kimchee mayonnaise. It’ll cost you $6.75. This isn’t a new dish — we actually had this back in 2021 and loved it! Back in 2021, we felt that short ribs were awesome, the mayo was delicious, and the slaw was golden and crunchy. Could this year’s version live up to what we remembered?
Well, it actually exceeded our expectations! Our reporter who tried this (who is a plant-based eater) said this year’s version is the best one they’ve had yet. The IMPOSSIBLE “meat” was well seasoned and the kimchee mayo seemed to have more of a kick to it compared to previous years (which was a good thing for us!).
When you eat the “meat” with the cilantro-lime rice and the bok choy (also included in this dish) it dilutes the spices and seasonings, which can be good if you’re not a fan of the stronger seasonings. But even on its own, we really enjoyed the flavors of this dish this year!
Keep in mind that this dish is part of the Garden Graze food challenge so it can also help you get enough stamps to get a prize!
Next, we grabbed the IMPOSSIBLE Lumpia with Thai sweet chili sauce which is a NEW dish for $5.50. This is also part of the Garden Graze food challenge. We felt that this was an excellent addition to the menu this year! Our reporter called this the vegan finger food of their wildest dreams — no joke!
It was sweet with a bit of heat (hey, it rhymes!) and very sticky on the outside with that fried shell. Unfortunately, the shell wasn’t really crispy since it had been dunked in the chili sauce, but the sauce was delicious so we really didn’t mind.
The IMPOSSIBLE “meat” on the inside was finely ground (which was nice) and mixed with various herbs. The flavor of the IMPOSSIBLE “meat” didn’t mesh perfectly with the sweet chili sauce on the outside, which was a bit of a disappointment. Don’t get us wrong, this dish is still delicious and likely one our plant-based eater will get over and over again (portable and tasty? a win!) but the meat and chili sauce flavors clashed ever so slightly, so that might be something you’ll want to prepare for.
Lastly, we snagged the Chocolate Cake with black currant ganache, mixed berry compote, and chocolate ice cream for $5! This is also a new dish and is part of the Garden Graze food challenge.
This was very moist and had a rich chocolate flavor. You could almost entirely forget that this is plant-based! The black currant flavor was surprisingly intense though, so be prepared for that. Also, our chocolate ice cream melted really quickly, so it was more like a room-temperature sauce by the time we tried it — not exactly the best. Our advice would be to eat it before it melts so you can get a nice compliment to the flavors!
Alright, now that we’re done with the food, let’s talk about the drinks!
Drinks
All the drinks are returning this year, so you can once again enjoy the Twinings of London Energize Matcha Cranberry & Lime Green Tea, which you can get as a non-alcoholic drink for $4.50 or an alcoholic drink (with Hangar 1 Makrut Vodka) for $11.50. Note that the alcoholic version is served in a mason jar, making it extra fancy!
This year, we grabbed the non-alcoholic version. This drink was very refreshing and not overly sweet! The syrup was mostly at the bottom of the drink though, so if you want to make it more balanced, stir things up. In our case, even when we got to the more syrupy part of the beverage, it wasn’t overpowering and its sweetness acted as a nice pick-me-up on a hot day!
When we’ve had the alcoholic version in the past, it has been DANGEROUS. The alcohol has been barely noticeable, making it taste like regular, delicious tea! So be cautious and drink it slowly!
You can also grab the Parish Brewing Co. Bloom Hazy IPA here (another returning drink) for $5.50 for 6 ounces or $9.50 for 12 ounces. When we had this back in 2021, we felt that it was REALLY good. It had juicy and soft flavors with floral notes and a slight bitterness. Totally phenomenal if you like that flavor profile.
Lastly, you can grab the J. Lohr Wildflower Valdiguié for $6.50.
Overall
Overall, this booth is a dream for plant-based eaters considering its menu is made entirely of plant-based eats. But it might also be one for omnivorous eaters to try! The short rib was delicious, the lumpia was awesome (despite the slight clash in flavors between the meat and the sauce), and the chocolate cake was a win too! Pair that with the refreshing Twinings drink and you’ve got some pretty good eats to enjoy on your EPCOT day.
Plus, if you’re looking to complete the Garden Graze challenge this is a GREAT booth to stop at! All 3 food items are part of the challenge so you can pick up 3 qualifying items in one stop (you need to buy a total of 5 items to complete the challenge and get a prize).
Let's tackle the Boneless Impossible Korean Short Rib, Impossible Lumpia with Thai Sweet Chili Sauce, and Chocolate Cake with Black Currant Ganache!
These are ALL Garden Graze items too! 💐
