Have you ever been on a Disney Cruise?
If not, you’re missing out on an entirely different kind of Disney vacation, full of fun activities, GREAT dining, amazing entertainment, unique character interactions, and more! For certain sailings, you also get access to Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. But soon, Disney Cruise Line will introduce its SECOND private island, Lighthouse Point — and we’ve got a first look at it!
Lighthouse Point is located on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas, which means that it will be available for select cruises to the Bahamas.
Disney created it by collaborating with local artists and call it “a unique celebration of Bahamian culture brought to life with the quality and service of a Disney vacation.”
Guests who visit Lighthouse Point will see “distinctive, sweeping architecture in bright, saturated hues” with buildings shaped like shells. Guests will also “discover artistic expressions of the native flora and fauna of The Bahamas and the pageantry and history of Junkanoo parades.” Visitors will also find references to Bahamian folklore characters.
One of the main concepts behind the new island is sustainability. At least 90 percent of its electricity will be met by an onsite solar array. Also, the pier where ships will dock was designed in a way that limited any impact on the island’s natural landscape.
The island has white sandy beaches, including a family beach on the east side of the island, which will also be located near “market-style dining, recreation, and other amenities.”
There will also be a Bahamian art and culture pavilion, which will bring special programs to guests and feature local artists so guests can learn more about local art and culture.
Guests will also find an interactive family water play area with two slides, water drums, fountains, and more. There will also be a dedicated space for toddlers.
A themed kids’ club will be available for children ages 3 to 12 where parents can drop off their children to be under the care of Disney Cruise Line counselors. It will include a Little Mermaid-themed splash pad and a dedicated dining spot.
For adults who want to get away from it all, there’s also an exclusive adult beach. This beach has its own dedicated dining area plus six private cabanas that can be reserved ahead of time. This beach lies just north of the family beach.
That’s not all, though! There’s a space AWAY from the main family area with another beach lined with 20 premium family cabanas that will be available to rent.
This includes four double cabanas for larger groups — these will also offer massage services.
There will be plenty of recreational activities for everyone, as well as a collection of new port adventures. Complimentary beach supplies will also be available, like towels, chairs, umbrellas, and lunch. Tran transportation will also be available for travel on the island.
Lighthouse Point will open for guests starting on select sailings in the summer of 2024.

Do we know if this new island means that the Caribbean cruises will no longer dock at Nassau, and will dock at this new island instead?
