We’re anticipating the opening of several big attractions in Disney World in the coming months!
First up will be TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom, followed by the completion of the EPCOT transformation and Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana later this year. But in 2024, we’ll be “goin’ down the bayou” with Tiana at Magic Kingdom!
In early 2023, Splash Mountain closed at Magic Kingdom to be transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Since then, we’ve been keeping an eye on construction at the ride to see what’s changing!
Currently, there’s quite a bit of scaffolding on the exterior of the mountain, as crews work to add new theming to each level. We’ve seen construction workers on these stands multiple times recently.
Down at the bottom of the hill, the water was drained several weeks ago, but the area is partially covered in tarps, wooden beams, and more metal scaffolding.
We’ve noticed a few changes in the queue since the ride closed, with the inside part of the queue being used as a workshop area. Some of the queue is also being used for storage for materials.
You can see many of the changes from the Frontierland train station, and we could see that multiple theming elements were covered up near the entrance.
Those are all the updates we have from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure for now! We’ll make sure to keep you in the loop as we find out more information about this upcoming attraction.
