If you’ve spent a lot of time in Downtown Disney or Disney Springs (the huge shopping and dining districts in Disneyland and Disney World, respectively) you’ve probably been to the Earl of Sandwich restaurant.
This spot has counter service dining locations at both parks, but now a NEW location has opened up at Downtown Disney that serves customers table service style! And the weird thing? There’s a LOT more than sandwiches on the menu. Come with us to try out this new spot!
You’ll find the new Earl of Sandwich Tavern in Downtown Disney right next to the counter service Earl of Sandwich location (close to the huge World of Disney gift shop). The counter service spot is on the left in this photo, and the Tavern is on the right.
While the counter service spot focuses on mostly sandwiches, the Tavern has a wider variety of dishes, including burgers, fish tacos, and more. Not really what you’d expect from a restaurant called Earl of Sandwich!
Let’s head inside!
Atmosphere
You can choose to sit inside or outdoors at the Earl of Sandwich Tavern. There’s a bar inside, with several barstools and full-service menus.
The shelves are well-stocked here, so you can drop by for a drink or order a meal to go with it!
There’s plenty of seating outside as well.
Most of the tables have four chairs, but they could be pushed together to accommodate larger parties.
The chairs are made of a wicker material. Each table has menus, silverware and napkins, and condiments.
The tables are placed inside a patio that’s surrounded by a short fence and hedges so that it’s a little bit separated from the surrounding walkways in Downtown Disney.

Menu
The menu is posted outside so that you can check out the eats before you head in.
Let’s take a closer look!
There are starters like chicken wings, a quesadilla, and garlic bread.
You could grab a light meal with a soup or salad, which includes options like Tomato Basil Bisque, Clam Chowder, a Caesar Salad, or a Hollywood Bowl.
Earl of Sandwich is famous for its fantastic sandwiches (of course), but there aren’t many of them on the menu. In fact, you can only choose between four sandwiches — the B.E.L.T. Sandwich, Turkey Club, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, or Chimichurri Steak Sandwich. There are also a couple of burgers.
Entrée options include salmon, pasta, prime rib, chicken, fish tacos, or fish and chips.
There are some fairly standard sides (like fries, mashed potatoes, and a fruit cup) along with a few options on the kids’ menu. Dessert options include White Chocolate Bread Pudding, Dark Chocolate Ganache Cake, and New York Style Cheesecake.
The drink menu is pretty normal. There are tea, soda, and various coffee options on the menu. Remember that you can also stop by the bar inside if you want to check out more drink choices.
Let’s try some food now!
Eats
First up, we tried the Mac-n-Cheese Burger, which is an 8 oz. patty, six cheese mac-n-cheese, cheddar, crispy onion straws, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and special sauce on a brioche bun. It costs $24.
It comes with french fries or a fruit cup, and you can add a cup of soup for $5.
This burger was cheesy and just about perfect! The mac and cheese was warm, gooey, and rich. The pickles lettuce and tomatoes all tasted fresh and added a refreshing crunch.
The patty was juicy and full of flavor, and the brioche was nice and soft. The cheddar had a bit of that sharp cheddar taste that went well with the rest of the mac and cheese.
We liked the crispy onions as well, which added some good flavor and a bit of a crunch.
Next, we tried the Fish Tacos, which are made with mahi-mahi, pickled onion, creamy slaw, chipotle salsa, and cilantro for $27. The dish comes with three tacos.
Everything here combined to make such a yummy taco! The mahi-mahi had a mild fishy taste and seemed to be recently caught, based on the taste. The chipotle salsa brought in a nice spice but was also somewhat refreshing at the same time.
The creamy slaw had hints of vinegar and added a little crunch to the taco. These all combined for a fresh fish taco with a little bit of kick to it. Our reporter said it was one of the best fish theme park dishes they’ve had.
Our tacos came with a side of beans and cilantro rice. While we really enjoyed the tacos, we think that the price was pretty steep for the portion. At $27, that’s $9 per taco, and they’re fairly small.
For dessert, we had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding for $12, which is warm white chocolate bread pudding served with vanilla ice cream and a sweet whiskey sauce.
The bread pudding was warm, soft, and sweet! The sweet whiskey sauce added a little cinnamon-y sweetness.
The vanilla ice cream had a rich and sweet vanilla bean flavor. All of these components are combined for a sweet vanilla dessert that melts in your mouth.
If you’re a fan of traditional bread pudding, we think you’ll enjoy this dessert!
Nosh or Not
Head on into the Tavern if you…
- Want to choose from a wide variety of menu options. There’s a lot more than sandwiches on the menu at this Earl of Sandwich spot, from fish tacos to prime rib, mac-and-cheese burgers to caesar salad.
- Like the sound of a Mac-n-Cheese Burger. That burger was seriously amazing, and it’s pretty much enough of a reason in itself to visit the Tavern!
- Are looking for a good, simple meal in Downtown Disney. The menu is mostly pretty basic, but everything we ate here was good!
Skip this spot if you…
- Love Earl of Sandwich for the sandwiches. There are only four sandwiches on the menu here, which is nothing compared to the selection offered at the counter service location.
- Want to try unique, adventurous eats. There’s a good variety on the menu, but it’s all pretty basic. For more adventurous eats, you should try Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen for tasty Louisiana-inspired eats or Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes for some unique burgers.
- Want a quick meal to grab and go. You’ll want to try a counter service spot for a faster meal, like the fast food version of Earl of Sandwich or Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs.
Overall
So should you head to Earl of Sandwich Tavern? Honestly, it depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re a big fan of the counter-service Earl of Sandwich spot like us, you might see the menu at the Tavern and wonder WHERE did all the sandwiches go? There are a lot more choices when it comes to sandwiches over on the fast food side.
That being said, we really enjoyed our meal here! So if you’re looking for more variety or if your group can’t decide on one type of food, then the diverse menu at the Tavern might be just right, and the food is definitely pretty good.
We’ll continue to try out all the newest Disney eats, so stay tuned to DFB for more reviews!

Essie says
I love the Earl of Sandwich, but I would like to go to the regular shop rather than the Tavern.
