Traveling with children can sometimes be tricky.
That’s especially true when it comes to food because some kids do tend to be picky eaters. Not every airline and restaurant caters to kids, at least as far as food goes, but one airline is bringing back kid-friendly meals.
Delta Airlines will soon be reintroducing kids’ meals on its flights, according to USA Today. The service was available before the pandemic, but was put on pause and hadn’t returned since then. But now, those meals are coming back.
“The meals are well-balanced and include a variety of fruits, vegetables, colors and texture.” Delta’s chefs put a lot of thought into the new meals, researching kids’ meals at restaurants to come up with a menu that would please kids AND their parents.
Breakfast includes French toast with syrup, scrambled eggs, fruit, and a small blueberry muffin. Lunch and dinner include cheese tortellini with marinara sauce and parmesan cheese, carrots and broccoli with ranch dressing, and an assortment of fruit and graham cookies.
These meals will be available on international flights, as well as on most domestic routes for customers in First Class. Special meals should be reserved at least 24 hours in advance.
Earlier this year, Delta also announced the return of its dessert cart on international flights. The cart treats include: plated desserts like opera cake with chocolate ganache, fruit and cheese plates, and a build-your-own ice cream sundae.
“Your onboard meal and beverage should be no different than your go-to restaurant at home, and that’s why we’re constantly reinventing our onboard service at Delta. We always want to surprise and delight our customers with seasonal, fresh and fun menu options,” said Kristen Manion Taylor, S.V.P. of In-Flight Service at Delta.
New additions to Delta’s menu for adults include “regional touches” like traditional afternoon tea and tapas. There are also some seasonal items from popular restaurants regional restaurants.

Sorry Delta. After our recent trip to the Philippines was scheduled for 48 hours of flying time but had an additional 40 hours of delays, and the best you could do for my family of 4 with a 6 and 7 year old was $50 per person , when you needed 15 voluntarily bumpers on one of our flights and offered them $3000 per person to bump 9 hours( would have taken the money and run if we knew we would sit on the plane at the gate for 1.5 hours, miss our connection, and incur a 12 hour wait for the next rebooked flight), we have no intention of flying with you again and a kid’s meal is not gonna entice us back.
