There is so much news coming out of Tomorrowland!
TRON Lightcycle/Run is just weeks away from opening on April 4th, 2023. We recently found out about the NEW pop-up store coming for TRON merchandise, and we saw an update to the Tomorrowland map as well. We also learned about a new interactive experience coming to Tomorrowland, and NOW we have an update on the building that will house that new experience!
For a while, we have been watching the refurbishment of the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co building. This building has previously been used as the Space Mountain gift shop.
Just last week we saw a change to the front of the store when a new mural was added.
It has now been announced that the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co will be renamed Tomorrowland Launch Depot. The store will open on April 4th along with TRON Lightcycle / Run! Here you can see photos of the new sign completed.
The Tomorrowland Launch Depot will be home to the new interactive experience called TRON Identity Program. Guests will able to customize a “Program” action figure that looks and sounds like you and an identity chip that will interact with other merchandise as well! This is similar to the Avatar Maker found in Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
While on the PeopleMover, we were able to see that some merchandise is already inside!
There were even TRON mannequins!
We also got a look from the back of the store on the TRON side.
We are excited for the store to reopen and to experience the new TRON Identity Program. For more TRON/Tomorrowland news, be sure to follow DFB.
