TRON Lightcycle / Run is opening on April 4th, 2023, but that’s not the only new thing coming to Tomorrowland.
Along with the debut of TRON, Tomorrowland is getting a rethemed gift shop (Tomorrowland Light and Power Co. is now Tomorrowland Launch Depot), new TRON-themed merchandise at a pop-up shop, and even a new snack spot! There will be a new interactive TRON experience too and we’ve got ALL the details you need to know right here.
If you’ve ever wanted to become an action figure, check out the TRON Identity Program. This new experience will allow you to customize a “Program” action figure that actually looks and sounds like YOU. Plus, you’ll get an identity chip that’ll interact with other TRON-themed merchandise.
You will enter the Grid through a Grid Digitization Portal at the re-themed Tomorrowland Launch Depot store.
Then Disney will use Image Capture to scan your facial features to create your custom action figure. You’ll get to pick a helmet and body configuration, decide if you want to be an Enforcer, Combatant, Scout, or Heavy Sentry, and then choose a team color.
Then, you’ll head to the Command Input where you’ll record 6 lines of dialogue. It’ll take around 20 minutes to make your selections and about 60 minutes for the figure to be ready.
Starting March 21st, 2023, you’ll be able to book reservations for the experience for dates beginning April 4th, 2023.
But just how much will this interactive experience cost? Well, Disney has revealed that your figure will cost $89.99 plus tax. Payment is due upon arrival and they’ll only allow you to get one action figure per User per experience.
The experience as a whole will be limited just to the User (creating the figure) and one guest. At least one person in the party must be at least 14 years old or older. The figures are nonrefundable and they are NOT eligible for Annual Passholder (or other) discounts.
It is all subject to availability, so you’ll want to book those reservations in advance. And keep in mind that a valid credit card number will be required when you book. If you want to try for a last-minute spot, a limited number of same-day reservations might be available up to 2 hours in advance and walk-ins may be accommodated depending on availability, so be sure to ask.
Again, reservations open up on March 21st — you can visit the Disney World website or My Disney Experience app to book your spot!
Once you’re ready to check in for your reservation, visit the area no earlier than 10 minutes before the reservation time, make sure your entire party is there, and bring your reservation confirmation, photo ID, and credit card that you used at the time of booking.
If you’re looking to try something NEW in Disney World and get an action figure of…yourself(!) check out this experience when it becomes available on April 4th. And stay tuned for more Disney news.
