Happily Ever After is returning SOON to Magic Kingdom!
We’ve got a full post up on our page already so you can watch from home and we’ve known that the show would be different than what we saw back in 2021. But what exactly is different? We’ve got a list of all the changes for you right here!
Don’t worry — the beloved Happily Ever After theme song is the same. However, there are some things that have changed and we got to check it all out!
Fortunately, the Happily Ever After fireworks show we all know and love hasn’t changed in any significant way — except for the addition of those projections on Main Street, U.S.A.
You might remember that Disney didn’t introduce projections down Main Street until Enchantment premiered as part of the 50th anniversary, but they’ve revamped Happily Ever After to include them too!
Next up at this #mediaevent is a special preview of #HappilyEverAfter 🥹🎆 and we learned that, although the show itself will essentially be the same, there will be the added element of Main Street projections! ✨#AllTheDisneyThrills #WaltDisneyWorld pic.twitter.com/R21jECUM5u

We loved seeing the projections continue down Main Street, U.S.A., and we may or may not have had tears streaming down our faces the whole time (we did). It’s incredible to see the new additions to one of our favorite nighttime shows in Disney World.
Here’s a look at some of the projections on Main Street with the castle in the distance as well. We’re so thrilled that Happily Ever After will return to Magic Kingdom on April 3rd — make sure you mark your calendars if you want to check the returning show out.
But, it was important to Disney that the focus was still on Cinderella Castle, and we got to check that out in all its glory during a media preview of the show — see for yourself below!

Not only that, but your MagicBand+ will interact with the show as well — just like it did with Enchantment and Harmonious over in EPCOT. You can expect lights and fun haptic vibrations along with the fireworks and music!
We are so thrilled that this show has partly returned to the park. If you’re taking a trip to Magic Kingdom soon, make sure you know WHEN you can catch this show every night. As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news!

Has it changed to be as good as Wishes? Wishes had heart and storyline that Happily doesn’t have. Wishes will forever be the benchmark regardless of technologies.

I think they were test firing the fireworks for the new show on Tuesday night. There was an undefined grouping of fireworks blasts between 11:15p and 11:45p. I think the park was closed because I remember hearing the regular fireworks show at 8:45p.

I miss Wishes. Happily Ever After is so dull. The fireworks do not compare. It has a major lack of storyline. I really do not care to watch it again. After we watched it the first time we just preferred watching from the balcony of our hotel because we were not missing anything special.
