OH, BOY! We have some exciting Disney World news to share!
Not only did we just get some pretty stellar character meet-and-greet info, but Disney shared a sneak peek at the inside of the new CommuniCore Hall — which will also be home to another new meet-and-greet!
We just got a TON of exciting Disney World news — a Figment meet and greet is coming to EPCOT, the opening timeline has been confirmed for Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana, and we also got a sneak peek of the new fireworks show coming to EPCOT.
But, the announcements don’t stop there because Disney has shared a sneak peek at what we can expect from the inside of CommuniCore Hall, which will be home to all things EPCOT festivals, special events, and more. In the concept art below, we can see a huge, colorful statue of Figment, along with an Inside Out activity area and more vibrant art all over the walls and ceiling.
According to Disney, “CommuniCore Hall will also be the home of a dynamic exhibition space that will transform with each festival throughout the year, as you can see here in one possibility imagined for EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Playing with light, shapes and reflections, the architecture of this building was designed by Walt Disney Imagineering to celebrate the legacy of EPCOT and the original CommuniCore buildings.”
Not only that, but Disney also shared that CommuniCore Hall will also be the location of a new Mickey & Friends meet-and-greet! We got a first look at what the outside of that meet-and-greet location will look like as well, and you can check it out below. It looks like the classic geodesic Spaceship Earth pattern will be repeated on the outside of this building — we can’t wait to see what it will look like in person!
So far, Disney hasn’t shared too many details about the new meet-and-greet, other than its location and that we can expect the experience to open “later this year.” We’ll be on the lookout for more announcements from Disney about CommuniCore Hall, the new Mickey & Friends meet-and-greet, and everything currently in the works at Disney World.

Hey DFB, do you have any news on what’s going on with the building that was open before 2020 in Epcot ? Sorry I do t know the name of it. It’s the large building by Joffrey’s near Canada. They always had festival kiosks in there, a gift shop, decor and entertainment. It was the best place to grab something and sit inside the AC, shop etc.
Any news on what’s going on in there or if it’s ever coming back? Thanks !

Hi Jacqueline! The last time I was there I asked about that building because I was hoping they’d have the pierogi again, but the CM basically told me it’s been closed off to the public and they’ve been using it as a meeting space. They didn’t know if it would be available in the future with more food vendors, but I miss it too.
