We’ve got BIG news, EPCOT-goers!
If you’ve visited the park recently or have been keeping up with our updates, you know that EPCOT is going through a huge transformation. We’ve particularly been keeping an eye on the park’s upcoming Moana attraction — Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana — and now we’ve got more details about the experience!
The original opening timeline for this new experience was announced back in September 2022 with a “late 2023” expected opening. However, now Disney has specified things a tiny bit and confirmed the opening timeline by noting that the attraction will open in the fall of 2023 (which means we can presumably expect to see the attraction before the winter of 2023 hits).
We’ve been keeping up with all the construction updates for months now and things are moving along.
As a reminder, this is a walk-through experience where guests can interact with water and learn about the water cycle. It’s located in the World Nature section of the park.
The attraction also features a large Te Fiti figure.
We’ve enjoyed seeing the attraction come to life over the last few months, but we’re more excited to experience it firsthand soon. As always, be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news!

Hi AJ, my best friend and I will be at Disney the last week in September. We are really hoping this beautiful new attraction will be open. We are staying at the Beach Club so we can quickly walk to Epcot. I know it will be totally amazing. The Imagineers never disappoint. Also, I ordered 2 2023 T-shirts from the DFB store yesterday. Can’t wait to get them!!

Never forget that “Fall” can be up to the first day of winter, which is December 21st this year. Prime example was the “Fall 2012” opening of New Fantasyland on December 6, 2012.

Will the new water attraction at Epcot be wheelchair accessible?

Not looking forward to the reimagining of an iconic and futuristic look to Epcot Center. I will miss it for sure and not looking forward to a crowded walkway connecting future world with World Showcase. Oh well.
