Well, howdy! Welcome to Andy’s backyard!
If you’ve been to Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you probably already understand the premise of the area: you’ve been shrunk down to the size of a toy! That’s why Slinky Dog is so HUGE when you ride Slinky Dog Dash and why the toys in the area are GINORMOUS. Well, now we’re going to a new play area that Andy has created where you can try some good old-fashioned BBQ!
During a media preview, we got the chance to step inside the NEW Roundup Rodeo BBQ restaurant in Disney World. And we’re taking you along with us to show what it’s like!
Atmosphere
As you walk up to the restaurant, you’re welcomed by all the classic Toy Story characters on the decor. How charming! The restaurant was handmade by Andy, so it definitely has that “arts and crafts project” charm!
Inside, you’ll find a rodeo arena created by Andy himself!
He’s taken his favorite games and play sets to create a scene that has a vibrant mash-up atmosphere.
You’ll find blocks, lights, cardboard cut-outs, and more full of Toy Story-inspired details!
You may even spot representations of your favorite Pixar characters, including artwork, toys, and game pieces, so be sure to look around.
There are LOADS of great Imagineering details here.
The dining area is decorated very similarly to the queue of Toy Story Mania.
There are so many fun little details!
Be sure to look UP too, because the ceiling is covered in unique designs.
And look DOWN too!
There are all kinds of characters to look for…
…and details featuring Jessie, Woody, and toys you may have played with as a child.
Even the restrooms are decorated!
So you’re going to want to make a little pitstop here to check out that decor too.
We spotted booth seats made out of pieces from Monopoly and Scrabble, and the walls are decorated to look like a colorful western town.
If you look around, you’ll spot some of Andy’s crayon drawings on the walls and ceilings as well.
Take a walk inside with us!

But we know that you’re really curious about that menu, so let’s take a look!
Menu Offerings
Okay, so you know what we’re really here for is the food. The idea is that we’re dining in the middle of these play sets while “rodeo festivities” take place while chowing down on BBQ fare served family-style. We’re talking platters full of house-smoked meats, classic sides, and miniature “sweet surprises.”
The meal starts with The Prospector’s Homemade Cheddar Biscuits served with sweet pepper jelly.
Plus, you’ll get three salads: Rootin’ Tootin Tomato Salad, Rex’s Romaine and Kale Salad, and Wheezy’s Watermelon Salad.
We hope you’re ready for the main event because the entrees include: Evil Dr. Smoked Ribs, Buttercup’s Beef Brisket, There’s a Sausage in My Boot (BEST food name EVER), and BBQ Chicken — with Style!
If you want Plant-Based options, you can enjoy some Combat Carloflower, Scrumptious Bratwurst, and Rip Roarin’ Rib Chop.
You can also choose four sides, and there is a LOT to choose from, so good luck deciding!
You can also choose one of five desserts! Gotta have that little something sweet to end this scrumptious meal, right?
You’ll also find plenty of fun drinks, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
We’ll be reviewing EVERYTHING from Roundup Rodeo BBQ soon, so be sure to check back with us!
If you’re looking to eat here, you can now make advance dining reservations as early as 60 days before the first day of your Disney World trip. The restaurant officially opens to the public on March 23rd, 2023.
Special Experiences & Unique Details.
Beyond the food, drinks, and decor, you might want to pay close attention to the music in this spot. We heard one Cast Member mention the possibility of a Holiday and/or Halloween overlay when it comes to the audio played in the restaurant. So that’s something you may want to look for throughout the year.
Also, be sure to take a close look at the plates your food is served on — they look like the paper plates you might otherwise have at a backyard barbecue, but don’t worry, these aren’t the floppy kind that’ll cause you to accidentally drop your meal on the floor. They’re essentially regular plates made to look like disposable paper plates!
Plate. Secured! ✨There was no detail missed here, including these “paper” plates!#AllTheDisneyThrills #WaltDisneyWorld #MediaEvent pic.twitter.com/R5EuOFoRCK
