Some Disney vacations begin at Orlando International Airport, and this can make or break your trip!
Orlando International Airport is located just about 20 miles from Disney World. Guests traveling to Disney World often take advantage of this if they are having to fly in from out of town. The airport just got a federal grant of $69 Million to continue to update its newest addition, Terminal C.
There used to be one common way for Disney World guests to get to the resort: Disney’s Magical Express bus service. But since that went away at the end of 2021, we have to make our own arrangements for transportation. If you’ve decided to use Uber or Lyft to get to Disney World, we have an important tip for you! If you are looking for the rideshare location at Orlando Airport, you might not find it right away!
In many airports, you can follow the signs for “ground transportation” and wind up on a level where you’ll find pick-up locations for taxis, shuttles, and rideshares like Uber or Lyft. But at Orlando Airport, the rideshare pickup is NOT on the same level as the pickup for taxis and other ground transportation! It has tripped us up before, so we want to save you the same confusion.
Level 2 is where you would want to head to be picked up by Uber or Lyft for terminals A & B. If you follow the signs for ground transporation in Terminals A or B, you’ll wind up on Level 1 and have to head back upstairs. If you fly into Terminal C, you’ll need to go to Level 6 for rideshare pickup.
