It’s TRON day, DFB readers!
Even though TRON Lightcycle / Run wasn’t officially supposed to open until April 4th, Disney recently announced there would be a soft opening from now until April 2nd. You know what that means — we’re live in Magic Kingdom to bring you all the details!
Virtual Queue & Lightning Lane Info
Before we even stepped into the park, the virtual queue for the ride filled up in less than a minute! It was mere seconds before the queue was full.

This isn’t a big surprise, as we knew the first public day for this ride was going to be popular. Later in the day, we also noticed that the Individual Attraction Selections for TRON were all taken by 8:00 as well! So if you don’t get a spot in the virtual queue, you’ll want to buy your IAS reservation ASAP! Luckily for us, the virtual queue will open again at 1PM so if you miss out on both the virtual queue at 7AM and the IAS, you can try again.

Crowds
While park reservations may have been sold out today, the crowds weren’t too bad this morning! We felt like it was a pretty normal Spring Break day despite the lack of reservations. This might be due to the fact that many of the virtual queue return times and individual lightning lane return times weren’t all at once so crowds will be more spread out.
Over in Tomorrowland, crowds were still not too bad due to the fact that the courtyard around Tron is only open to those with an individual lightning lane or virtual queue. Guests do have to check in with Cast Members over by Space Mountian before they can experience the soft opening.
Lines around the check-in seemed not too hectic and well controlled by the Cast Members! But, by the time the 1PM Virtual Queue dropped and folks started returning to the line for their Boarding Groups, we saw quite a line start to form.

Food
You didn’t realize this ride opening also came with a snack stand opening did you?! Energy Bytes is a quick-service spot located just outside the entrance of TRON, and it unexpectedly opened today as well. For now, it’s only accessible to those with Virtual Queue or Lightning Lane reservations, but we expect that will change once TRON officially opens.

Of course, we had to check all the food out! Some of our favorites were the Beef and Broccoli Digital Dumplings…
…the Buffalo Chicken Digital Dumplings…
…and the Chocolate Cake Doughnut Holes!
This place is worth a stop even if you’re not interested in riding Magic Kingdom’s newest ride.

Wow sounds great! We were there last month and watched the test runs with Cast Members only. Closest we could get was the People Mover. Can’t wait to try out Tron!
