If we’ve learned anything from dining at every restaurant in Disney World, it’s that the food experience varies wildly from place to place!
Not every restaurant in the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs is going to knock your socks off, but not all of them are bad either (in fact, some are pretty outstanding!). You may expect that if you’re staying at one of Disney World’s Value Resorts that you’ll end up with “bad” food at your hotel. But is that really the case? Recently we stopped by one of the food court-style restaurants to do a full review and find out!
At Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, your lone dining options are The Drop Off Pool Bar and Landscape of Flavors. And while The Drop Off does have a few eats available, it’s mostly serving up drinks. So to get the full meal experience, you need to head to Landscape of Flavors inside the resort’s main building. Let’s go!
Atmosphere
Starting out with the atmosphere, this restaurant is similar to the other Value Resort restaurants in that it’s set up cafeteria-style. There are multiple grab-and-go stations where you can find things like drinks, chips, pre-packaged snacks, fruit, and refrigerated goods…
..but besides those, you’ve got a few different hot food stations where you can place your order and have it dished up right in front of you. Each of the stations serves different items.
Once you’ve picked up all your food, you can head to one of the checkout counters where the Cast Members will ring you up and hand out drink cups. Typically, people get all their food together on a tray so that it’s easier to carry.
After you’ve paid, make your way to the drink stations to fill up those cups. They have an assortment of fountain beverages, as well as things like coffee and hot cocoa.
There are also plenty of packaged condiments available — don’t forget to pick up the sauces!
And of course, there’s plenty of seating inside this restaurant. There are multiple sections of tables indoors, and you could even head to one of the few tables outside if you’d like.
As far as the atmosphere goes, it’s pretty generic, but this resort does have a fun animation theme that shows up in some of the decor.
Menu
Now let’s talk about the menu! We visited Landscape of Flavors during lunchtime, and there’s the same menu for both lunch and dinner.
For entrees, you can get everything from Shrimp and Grits to Tandoori Chicken to Braised Beef. They’ve got some pretty good variety. There’s also a pasta and pizza section where you can order whole pizzas or pizza by the slice.
Like you might expect from a place like this, you can also order from a selection of burgers and chicken options. The Benedict Burger offers a twist on breakfast fare, while the Bacon Cheddar Burger is a crowd-pleasing classic. There are three different sandwiches to choose from — the Barbecued Pulled Pork Sandwich, the Ham and Cheese Sandwich, and the Plant-Based Tuna Sandwich.
If you want a salad, there are several options that are pre-packaged and ready for pick-up in the refrigerated area. They have Caesar and Greek salads mainly, with a variety of toppings.
Sides available include the basics — french fries, macaroni & cheese, and breadsticks.
Don’t worry, there are plenty of options for your kiddos as well! The four different meals include a cheeseburger meal, a chicken and veggies meal, a chicken strips meal, and a macaroni & cheese meal.
And we can’t forget about dessert! There are multiple cupcakes available at any given point (options may vary) or you could go simple with a Mickey bar. You can also order full cakes if you’re celebrating something special.
Besides these listings, there are plenty of prepackaged snacks, and a variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
Eats
So what did we order? Well, we picked up a Greek Salad from the refrigerated goods and ordered an entree of Tandoori Chicken to check out!
Let’s start things out with the Greek Salad. It’s topped with crispy greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, chickpeas, olives, feta cheese, and peppers. You can order this for $9.29.
The salad also comes with a little cup of vinaigrette dressing with feta. This was probably our favorite part of the salad, and we really wish there was more of it! It was nice and tangy from the vinegar with a hint of feta flavor. It was really fresh, and it worked well with the veggies on the salad.
The salad itself was surprisingly good. The veggies all tasted pretty fresh, and the peppers especially had a nice crunch to them. A few of the greens were a little wilted, but not too bad, and not very many of them. We got a few big chunks of feta, which were great to stick on our fork with the other elements of the salad. In general, we were impressed by the mix of flavors and textures here!
Now let’s talk about that Tandoori Chicken for $14.49. If you order this from Mobile Order, it will be automatically packaged in a box, whether or not you select “dine in” as your preference. So if you want the bowl, get it from the counter.
In the meal, you’ll get three decent-sized pieces of tandoori chicken, a helping of rice, spinach paneer, and naan bread. The chicken wasn’t very impressive if we’re honest — our pieces were pretty gristly and there wasn’t a lot of spice or flavor like we were hoping. However, they were nice and moist, so that was a positive.
The naan was one of our favorite things about the meal because it was garlicky and buttery — two of our favorite flavors! It was soft and fluffy on the inside but was just a smidge tough on the outside.
The spinach paneer might be fine for those who are mega fans of cooked spinach, but we found it to be pretty bitter and very slimy. The paneer, however, was light and had a nice chew with a mild flavor. We would love some of that on its own!
Finally, we’ve got the rice! It was pretty simple, salted thoroughly, and seemed to have some of the same spices as the chicken. It’s yummy, but it’s essentially a filler for the plate.
So what are our thoughts overall?
Overall
If you’re staying at Art of Animation, you don’t have a wealth of dining options like some other resorts, so the goal is to find what you like BEST at Landscape of Flavors. Based on our experience today, we would recommend that Greek Salad as a great option for those looking for a balanced meal, but we might recommend that you skip the Tandoori Chicken.
In places like this, things like burgers, hot dogs, and pizza are usually pretty safe bets. Things get a little riskier if you go for the more “adventurous” dishes — it can be a hit or a miss.
Nosh or Not?
Enjoy the animation atmosphere of Landscape of Flavors if…
- You’re staying at Art of Animation and you don’t want to venture away from your hotel. If you’re staying at AOA, this is your main dining option unless you want the small bites you can get from the pool bar.
- You’re looking for a basic meal. Just want some french fries and a burger? A slice of pizza and breadsticks? This is your place!
- You have a wide variety of palettes. If everyone in your group has different tastes, you might have good luck pleasing them all at Landscape of Flavors. The menu has some decent variety, so whatever you’re craving, you can probably find a cafeteria version of it here.
Venture away from the resort and dine elsewhere if…
- You’re open to riding the Skyliner. Art of Animation is just a Skyliner ride away from multiple resorts and parks, each with some really stellar dining offerings! We’re bigger fans of the quick service spots at Disney’s Riviera Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, so you can head over there if you have the time.
- You want a special experience or really good food. In general, the food here is pretty mediocre, so if you want dining that’ll impress you…you may want to head elsewhere. There ar plenty of signature restaurants with fine dining in Disney World, as well as experiences like character meals and dinner shows. You don’t have to eat at your resort restaurant every night of your trip!
And that’s a wrap on our review of Landscape of Flavors! Let us know if you’ve dined here before — we would love to hear your thoughts!

Yes, and it’s one of my favorites on Disney property.

We just returned from Art of Animation Resort and found Landscape of Flavors to be hit or miss with the food. The braised beef is served with garlic green beans and mashed potatoes which seem to be real as opposed to instant. The pizza crust had good flavor and was perfectly cooked, the sauce was OK and the cheese was skimpy for $20 there should have been more cheese. The bacon cheddar burger was cooked well and not dry, the cheese was just slapped on top with the bacon and was not melted, there was nothing special about the bun. The 2 strips of bacon was nice and crispy. The included French fries were actually pretty good considering they were sliced into thin matchsticks. The Benedict burger was pretty tasty with the egg on top. The grilled chicken sandwich was good but the chicken was a little bit dry. The kids chicken strips were good, the inside was moist while the outside was nice and crispy. The chocolate chip cookie wasn’t really that good, it has a strange taste.
While they have a huge variety of beverages the one thing that is lacking is the diet iced tea, unsweetened tea is NOT the same as diet.
At the dessert station there is a variety of baked goods. They do not however have small bags to put your baked goods in; the wax paper sheets are available but no bags. I did look at the salads and the premade sandwiches.

I should have stuck to the Greek salad when I was there but instead I ordered the foot long hot dog. It was one of the worst hot dogs I’ve ever had – far too salty for a start – and I threw most of it away. The cupcake was decent.

Today is 8/26/24. I wish I could post the picture I took of the mobile order Super Pepperoni Slice of Pizza… it had 1….. yes 1 slice of pepperoni on it and barely any cheese. Would laugh if it didn’t cost me $12. Everyone should check their mobile orders before getting back to their room. I plan on complaining to management.
