It’s an end of an era. The 50th Anniversary Celebration is ending.
It started on October 1, 2021, and we have celebrated 50 years of Disney World for the last 18 months. For the celebration we got a lot of 50th decorations around the parks, new snacks themed for the 50th, new nighttime shows and so much more. Because the celebration is coming to an end, there are some things that you might never see in Walt Disney World again!
Let’s get into what will be vanishing from Disney World next week.
Nighttime Shows
On October 1, 2021, two new nighttime shows debuted at Disney World. At the Magic Kingdom, Enchantment replaced Happily Ever After. Enchantment’s last show at Magic Kingdom will be April 2.
Enchantment gave us projections on Main Street USA and interactions with MagicBand +. Those things might still happen when Happily Ever After returns on April 3rd.
Harmonious was the new nighttime show at EPCOT. The show featured barges with screens, fireworks and some of your favorite Disney songs. It celebrated unity and culture from around the world. Harmonious will be ending April 2 and EPCOT: Forever will be returning temporarily until a new nighttime show comes celebrating Disney’s 100th Anniversary.
On the bright side, many fans are ready to see those barges go!
50th Character Costumes
When the 50th Celebration began, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy all got new outfits for the celebration. These were the earidescent theme which were the colors of the 50th anniversary. These outfits will likely retire as the pals will no longer be celebrating.
They each had gold details too like Minnie’s bow. They sure looked great in these outfits.
50th Decorations
There were so many decorations for the 50th celebration. Cinderella’s castle got a makeover, and even stores had decorations up. These will likely be gone next week and we will go back to the traditional displays.
We aren’t sure yet if the castle will stay the colors it currently is but we believe the 50th plaque and the ribbons will disappear.
The decorations at the train station at the entrance of Magic Kingdom will be gone as well.
Disney’s 50th Anniversary Private Tour
For the 50th celebration, Disney began a new private tour called The 50th Anniversary Tour. This was a private VIP tour that takes guests in groups of up to six across the theme parks and resorts in one day to touch on both historic and popular locations. In the morning, guests toured Tri-Circle D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, which was an opening day location in 1971!
From there, guests took a private charter to Magic Kingdom, where they lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant. They then traveled to EPCOT to take a spin on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure! The tour concluded with what Disney described as a “finale moment befitting a magical day.”
There are still other VIP Tours being offered, but this specific 50th anniversary one will go away.
50th Cavalcade
While cavalcades might stay around in some form, we expect to see Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade go away.
These first began during 2020 when parades paused but on October 1st 2021, they became 50th themed. We will miss singing along to the “Magic is Calling” theme song. It was so catchy.
Snacks
Disney World offered a lot of new snacks for the 50th Anniversary. From the Toad Burger to earidescent covered treats, we tried quite a few new snacks. Most of these snacks could dissappear. Before the celebration ended, we started to see some of the snacks change.
Snacks could stick around just lose their 50th anniversary theming. We have already seen this with a few snack items.
As we say goodbye to the 50th celebration, we will see so many things disappear from the parks. For more news on the 50th celebration ending, be sure to follow along with us at DFB.

Ethan Anania says
The only cavalcade that’s staying is the Adventure Friends Cavalcade, don’t expect Mickey and his pals to be in a cavalcade ever again, there would be no reason to bring back that godawful Good Time song, because it was only intended for the time of Mickey’s 90th in 2018, there’s no reason for Mickey’s 90th to be celebrated forever

Will the golden statues be removed also?
